He was pretty much the only sane guy in the team, even if he was a non-duelist normie and was quite useful when there was a need to throw hands or actually do something that does not involve children card games.

I think that's what I liked in original Yugioh - even when it became all about the children card game, there still were characters like Honda or Bakura that either did not bothered with it or treated is as a secondary thing.
