Chapter 1
This is the only used goods couple i like
>>292048416isn't she such a charmer?
end of chapter.ever seen this before? like it so far? first impressions?
>>292048716Read it a month ago, trust me it can be a very frustrating manga to read(in a bad way) but the ending makes it worth it. Satisfying and pretty beautiful conclusion for the main couple. One of my favorite romances
>>292048716>>292048960tried watching the anime adaptation, but it was too long. Stopped shortly after the tennis stuff. How does the manga compare?
>>292048716Thanks OP.First impression, I don't really like any of these characters, but we'll see how things go.
>>292048313Why though... We had a storytime of this recently.
>>292048716They seem fun. Thanks OP

>>292048411What a beauty
>>292048586At the beginning of the manga, there was this running gag, that Kyoko would misunderstand Godai sometimes but it stops appearing at some point
>>292048716Read it for the first time at the beginning of the year. Gotta say this is a pretty good introductory chapter even though the story changes a bit as it develops. I also really like the art style even the early one.
>>292048433 She's kind of a bitch If I'm being honest. I liked Akemi more
>>292048716I was here for the storytime a couol3 of years ago. Easily my favorite Rumiko work.
>>292048960There's one really frustrating moment in it that almost made me wanna quit but everything after that is so good. Something about this manga also makes me feel a certain way but I can't describe it. Maybe Godai's situation is more relatable but there's also something about how poor they all are. They are not living a bad or desperate life necessarily, like there is no looming threat but it's not really great either. The manga definitly displays a world and characters that feel alive.
>>292048716Best work by Rumiko and one of my favorite manga, period. There are a couple chapters near the ending that I re-read every now and then. Thanks for the storytime, OP>>292049284The anime is slighty moodier at times compared to the manga, but it's overall quite faithful to the source material. Give it a try, maybe in manga form the story will draw you in more
>>292048716thanks opsama, nope
>>292048503The van's handbrake is the unsung hero of this chapter.
>>292048716Read it years ago and liked it a lot. Probably the one I liked the most out of her better known works. It's length felt about right and I remember being rather satisfied with how it concluded. Feels like a good time to revisit it and see how it holds up for me.
>>292048716First time reading it
Anime had some great songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1XKAjzLxZo
>>292052969Kanashimi yo konnichiwa and Hidamari are my favorite OPs, but I think I'm probably one of the two people that liked the use of Alone again in that one-off episode
You just know.
>>292048411Sex
Art was really rough at the start
>>292048716>ever seen this before? like it so far? first impressions? It’s Rumiko’s best serious work objectively speaking, so far at least… Let’s see how MAO ends.
>>292052969Huh, I knew something was off. This isn't the actual opening version. You can see at the 0:35-0:45 part that the song doesn't match the lyrics on screen. Here's the proper version for reference:https://animethemes.moe/anime/maison_ikkoku/OP1-BD1080What's going on? Almost all the opening is the same but they use a different pre-chorus. And I don't remember the anime having two versions. And if it did, the song should have matched the lyrics on screen I imagine.
>>292048336>>292048319>>292048354Damn, she drew delicious girls.
>>292048376So the sign gags started early with Takahashi.
>>292048716Best Rumiko manga. Second best Rumiko anime.
