The manga did a switcharoo where it started as a sorta light bishoujo spokon with a adorably autistic protagonist plus a hotblooded trainer and a tomboy with huge tits serving as co-protagonists, it has a lot of comedy, a lot of fanservice, the characters are meant to be cute an dlikable. As the story progresses it becomes sort of a spokon/psychological thriller hybrid and the main character is, for the lack of a better word, deconstructed, she becomes self-destructive, increasingly less sympathetic, she looks down on everyone else, she thinks of herself as a genius that can't even co-exist with humans because of her creepy personality, it's revealed that the whole story is sort of a plot her mother started as a joke but not really where she was going to twist the mentality of her own daughter into become a super amazing generational badminton player and she even drags other girls into it, etc.
