Why do people prefer Brotherhood?

Just post the funny image already

Retarded writing later. Just watch until the laboratory then swap to Brotherhood.

the OG anime has a lot of fun bits, but the ending is really cliche and doesn't wrap up character arcs properly
on the other hand, brotherhood is a 99/100 from a script writing perspective.
I literally only have two gripes with it, one major and the other much more minor:
the big one, Al getting fooled by Barry and having an existential crisis over the idea that Ed created him out of thin air. besides the fact that we're never shown that this is even a thing that can be done, it's totally out of character for Al to lose trust in Ed. it exists solely to inject some drama into an otherwise boring-but-necessary plot exposition arc.
the minor gripe is that I don't think we get enough build up to Winry and Ed being in love. We get some bits from Winry's side but mostly it just kinda happens.

Because it's better.

I dunno, maybe you should rewatch it a couple more times

I can enjoy both quite frankly.

Because Brotherhood is a shonen, it’s simpler, more childish, and made for kids and retards so they can digest it without thinking or questioning anything.
FMA 2003 is a seinen series; it makes you think more, it doesn’t have a happy ending, and it was more in line with the post-Evangelion era, Lain, Texhnolyze, Kino no Tabi, Rahxephon, that kind of anime that made you think, didn’t spoon-feed you everything, that era that lasted from 1995 to 2006.
Brotherhood is more in the vein of Naruto and the shonen series of that era.

There’s also this absurd belief that if something sticks closer to the manga, it’s automatically better. That doesn’t hold true for FMA, since the FMA 2003 anime is far superior to the manga.

The 2003 FMA isn’t available on mainstream streaming platforms anymore, but Brotherhood is. So, because it’s more accessible, more people have watched Brotherhood and no longer want to watch the 2003 FMA, because they think it’ll be the same. And they ignore just how different the two series really are.

Or maybe Brotherhood is just better

Only a child or a retard could say that

Theres people that will prefer whats closest to the manga even if its sucks like the new GITS.

People prefer to consume that thing that is newer

people prefer to consume that which is more complete

People will perfer it because admitting the old things is better is like admitting the new generation sucks ass
