Ok bastards, it's been a while, how is your favorites series going?Personally I'd like to discuss somenthing, do we really need series that go beyond confessions/kiss/occasionally first time? In my opinion the right compromise is making them last a few chapters after that, because the main objective of the story would be already achieved basically, going too far through that point most of the times means becoming stale.Of course this is mostly related to series that takes a lot before reaching the confession milestone, stories that starts with life as a couple are different thing

The stuff after they started dating was so mind-numbingly boring that it turned into one of the worst romance series ever for me.But there are also some good examples, although all from VNs. Like Aokana Extra (mostly Extra2 but also Extra1) or Rikka's route in Hoshi Ori.
Given just how forward this manga is regarding the protags and their situation, I expect a lot of shit before its revealed they're unrelated and can proceed to break the sexual tension they keep building up.

The vast majority of shounen romances are about the main pair developing their feelings for each other, so seeing the budding relationship and all the normal tropes those hit are usually the fun parts. Once they're dating there isn't any point to the story anymore. Shoujo series tend to have lots of drama so they're more likely to have the characters date early then run into hurdles along the way.Personally, I really like stories where the characters are basically dating but refuse to confess it, or there's lots of buildup to the confession but you know it's mutual. Childhood friend has been in that arc for a while and it's fun, but it was pretty good in glasses girl and some others, so I always think that's fun. Haimiya's depression arc is sort of growing on me, I saw most people upset at how sudden it was, but I don't know; I kinda like seeing her at her lowest when she's been the strongest person in the cast for most of the manga.
