Still not up to the one-shot but I do think it's improvement over the first chapter. The narrative seems to understand how unwell this behaviour is too which is good since previously I really wasn't sure how much they wanted us to sympathize with her. That would be the obvious twist, but I think you could do a lot of interesting character arcs with that.That said, I don't trust the Japanese as a whole, let alone this author, to treat mental illness with any form of tact or reverence to explore the mechanics of toxic, abusive relationships. I will, however, follow this manga with great interest.
