but that gets you the bad ending. Either Imu survives and just starts again from scratch, or the Devil's Fruit passes to you and corrupts you into just becoming the next Imu and the cycle continues or some such
On the other hand the two devil fruits and three ancient weapons are probably not actually meant to be used to gain an advantage over Imu in combat. I think post timeskip has become a war of haki vs. devil fruits ideology of Roger's side vs. Rocks side. Roger, Shanks, and Luffy seem to be gaining power and haki (even if Luffy's crew has devil fruits too) while Blackbeard has been relying on collecting devil fruits and his father believed it was needed to take down Imu.

I don't think it's Kaido ideology vs. Rocks, but Roger vs. Rocks and Kaido was the one answering to the audience which was more important and who was right. It's haki and Roger was right. But at the same time, Rocks is also right in that devil fruits makes the fight easier. I think we'll see a crossroad for Luffy where he decides if he wants to take down Imu with his strength, or relying on devil fruits like Rocks planned on doing.
