I dislike Berserk because the artstyle, while impressive, is too busy and I have trouble telling what's going on, especially in battle scenes. It gives me a headache trying to read it.

>>292134507The hyperfocus on details doesnt really do it for me either. Especially the early stuff where Miura struggles to put things that aren't buildings properly into perspective. There is no denying that he had a lot of skill with a pen but I think a lot of the stuff in Blade of the Immortal clears it which is sad because Samura doesn't seem to ever come up in conversations about great manga art.

It sets all the character depth, dynamics and motivations, all the important worldbuilding, and it’s also a complete self-contained story. A new reader can stop at the end of the Golden Age and they will know like 90% of Berserk.
