I had a dream that I went to this festival/carnival/outdoors convention type thing (Though a lot more happened this dream too but it’s unrelated) and while we were driving around to find a spot I looked for he right I saw there was a Wedgiecon.
There was a bunch of conventionally attractive women cosplaying all the typical licensed characters you’d expect to be popular commissions on Deviantart like Android 18 with their pants down and underwear up their butts.
I sadly didn’t check it out because for one, I was riding with my family and had to pretend I wasn’t interested. For two I actually wanted to see everything else at the festival too. For three I’m not sure if I’m aware I’m in a dream or not, but I have this thing where my unconscious self is just as prudish and chooses not to do perverted degenerate stuff with strangers even when given the opportunity as if it were real life.
Maybe it’s a good thing because I heard some people complaining about con-goers getting too handsy. By the time I came to check out the booths they were just closing up, but I chose to help them put away tables and other equipment anyway.

I can't really say anyone else except BTC's are mascot like because, I have no clue whether or not any others would have this level of staying power after someone else leaves. Tigress is more popular than Carlos, he's just a kinda self-insert type of character and would fade after a while.
What other OCs even from the pandemic era are being talked about? Cubic's? WeirdoZen's? Aquietdime's? Nclfos's? (not sure if that's how you spell it and to be fair, he never ever talks about anything regarding them.)
Even someone like Bloom is more known for the quality of her art than her self-insert. Older OCs like Steve-O's are nostalgic, but generally left alone or forgotten.
Meanwhile, BTC stopped making Step-Sisters stories and made Detective Gusset and SS is STILL being talked about in the big 26.
This isn't to say anything of the actual quality of the writing of any of these characters (so don't get your panties in a twist), I think BTC was in the right place at the right time to stay in the minds of autists. That plus the easy universal archetypes that the characters embody make them very easy to put in a ton of situations.

Honestly, it's not hard to see why these two are the perfect mascots. When you look at Mickey Mouse and Mario, you notice their personalities are very basic, designed so even the most outlandish person can relate to them.

Ashley and Luna are very much the same; the details may differ, but the only parts that matter are that Ashley is the sweet nerd, and Luna is the goth bully. Combine that with simple but distinct designs, and you have yourself a million-dollar mascot. I guarantee you if BTC still has this fetish, he's punching himself for not trademarking the two and making more money than Carlos.

First of all we already have a mascot. Respect your elders children.

Second. BTC success was due to a lot of factors that just hit perfectly. We gotta remember that this community is content starved compared to most fetishes (how I wish I was into feet)
BTC felt almost mainstream. Quality art. Decent stories. Games. Fan art and fan stories. Also dude made bank for a while.
And before you guys crawl from the shadows to say how trash he was. Yeah he wasn't published author levels, he basically had a bunch of tropes that pretended it was a lot deeper than it actually was. But relative to most of what this community pumps out it was decent and consistent. And actually inspired some other people to create.

This fetish's biggest issue is that we don't really have much in the way of mainstream. So many of the classics have left or moved on. You can make ten times more money drawing furry feet than you can ever make drawing wedgies and if you're a writer good luck making a dollar. BTC at least showed that it is possible to carve out a pretty big foothold in this niche. Don't know if we've had anyone before or after him that got to that level.

Criminalkiwi seems to be gearing up for something bigger though. So maybe there might be something.

Me personally, I got into this when Argh time was most popular and everyone was making their OC comics on Kisekae and stuff.
I'm honestly not attached to any of the popular names of the community either because I feel like the novelty has already ran its course. Perhaps even an amphibious, Octopus-like robot! One that stalks the beaches from underneath the water's surface or by burrowing itself in the sand, always looking for the next set of swimwear to pull on.

As for another one... They're a set of 4 arm and leg shaped braces. Before they find a victim they kinda slither around like snakes, but upon finding a dork, they latch on! Using pure mechanical force and bio-electricity manipulation, these bots force the victim to march towards the nearest bully, and give them a big ol yank!

Then, the force the nerd to assume the position for some fun revenge!

Call them the False-Bullifiers or somethin...
