I'm making more money than I ever have in my 30 years of life. I have my own place, my own car, and I make over 2k a week before taxes. I love my alone time and am glad to have my own place, but holy fuck am I lonely. I want a gf (or more honestly bf (gay)) but the red state, blue collar environment, and multiple previous failures in relationships with both men and women, makes me nervous.
They all say to love yourself before loving others, but I cant honestly find myself not absolutely despising who I am without someone that loves me
>>
I feel like if you get those things you can get a partner too. Basically because they're competency indicators.
>>
>>33585849
I don't want someone who "loves" me for what I have.
>>
>>33586197
I more-so meant if you have the capacity to get those things you should have the capacity to find a partner.

But as an aside no love is fully unconditional. Women will look for competency markers to know if you're a good partner, it's not necessarily a more materialistic thing. It's more about loving you for what you can achieve.
>>
There are literal ex convicts that are unemployed who have gfs why do you think that you need to have your own place and make 6 figures? Are zoomers really this retarded?
>>
>>33585835
Same here. I realized that the core issue is this:
>love yourself before loving others,
Holy fuck is this bad advice, like "just rape someone" level of bad. The problem is that by being successful you've build a life where you don't really *need* another person. They can't contribute to your life, they can only be your personal jester, and this dynamic makes it incredibly hard to not to fail at the first hurdle, since it's so easy to just dump and reject everyone because you don't need them.

Not really sure what you can do with this though. I mean, I'm in the same boat after all - plus the problem of fucked up sexuality, which makes everything 10x more miserable.

Feed your soul.

I don't mean religion, though that's one possibility. Find SOMEthing that stimulates you inside, something you can get excited about. It can be art, music, philosophy, literature, sports or just anything that you throw yourself into, not noticing time passing, and come out of refreshed.

>love yourself before loving others
Now that I think of it, it's obvious where this advice came from and why it's bad. Probably you've read it on reddit, AKA "feminism daily". Women tell this advice to men because what they're looking for is someone LARPing as an immovable, impenetrable, indestructible rock. See all these stories of women leaving men the moment they show weakness, so women tell men to "love themselves" because obviously in their imagination they want a man who loves himself. As a faggot you agree with this because the fantasy of having a man made of stone is really appealing.

Except the problem is, nobody truly loves themselves. Everyone is full of insecurities, doubt, and all that bullshit. Women can ignore this fact because for every man that tells them the truth, there's another man willing to put on the macho charade. But as a faggot you start holding yourself to impossible standards because it would be ridiculous to expect your partner to "love himself" while you can't do that yourself, and you won't let go of that expectation. But you don't see the fact that "loving yourself" is the level of spirituality only reserved for Jesus, Dalai Lama and such.

I think that really strong relationships can be built exactly through imperfections, where you and another person put in the effort to achieve a common goal, and you experience common growth.

>>33587659
Fucking bullshit and you know it. This has been discussed many times already.

Keep despising yourself. You have every reason to and more besides. Don't give in to homosexuality, it will destroy you. Despise yourself, accept Christ crucified in your place, and live a life in service of his sacrifice. I hope you succeed where I have failed, but I hope to call you brother in the end.

>accept Christ crucified in your place, and live a life in service of his sacrifice
Wasn't the whole point of Jesus sacrificing himself that I wouldn't need to?

No, you must follow after Christ. Phillipians 3:7-10 and Matthew: 16:24 and more straightforward the letter of 1st John.

don't get me wrong, I'm a thief on the cross type of guy, but there is a clear ordinance towards faithful living. It would be a sin to say that our
sins are covered, hence have no fear of sinning (see Romans 6, or just Romans in general).
>>
>>33585835
Having someone wonderful who loved me never stopped me from hating myself. And that always fucked things up. I should kill myself.
>>
>>33587756
Of course it's very difficult to square the circle of "you can be gay AND christian at the same time" so I fucked up by getting into this discussion in the first place.

Still, I have a hunch that if Jesus lived in modernity, he would be okay with gay people, even though he'd criticize certain aspects of gay life, like ungodly (hehe) amounts of anonymous sex.

>>33587782
>I should kill myself.
Correct.
>>
>>33587808
Read the Sermon on the Mount. The sin Jesus considered the absolute worst is sexual immorality (homosexuality). You sound like a plebbitor with no understanding of Christianity who still likes to spout dumb opinions of what you know nothing of.

>I don't want someone who "loves" me for what I have.
Women don't have that honorable sense of love the same way men do. You're never going to find a woman who treats you like mommy did because you're just such a special special boy! Not how it works senpai, sorry.

>>33585835
>They all say to love yourself before loving others, but I cant honestly find myself not absolutely despising who I am without someone that loves me
I want you to find someone who is self-deprecating and depressing to be around. I promise you'll realize immediately why it's unattractive to people in general and especially women.
>>
>>33587880
Truth. Women only love you for what you are able to provide. You innately mean nothing to her.

t. man whose wife told him this explicitly after over a decade of marriage.

You know how men that aren't fucking psychopaths are generally protective over women and care for them by default ? This does not work the other way around. By default, women do not give a single solitary shit about a man they have no relationship with. And men should already know that other men don't care about them at all.

Can any of you niggers fucking read? The guy in question is gay.

>>
>>33587992
Is getting a gay guy any easier than getting a girl though ?
>>
>>33588351
No, both are different kinds of easy.

Based on what? Your own perception? What from scripture makes you think that Jesus would tolerate sin? Again, He did associate with thieves, adulterers and prostitutes, they understood that they had to leave that world behind to be with Christ. See the story of Zacchaeus, the repentant woman who cleaned Jesus's feet with her tears and the Samarian woman.

>Based on what? Your own perception?
Yes.
>What from scripture makes you think that Jesus would tolerate sin?
Nothing, I made that shit up. Why does it matter?
