I'm going to make a long story short here. I'm 36. I've been single for about eight years. I live in a city, have an apartment, make over 100K, and have done considerably well given a life that was pretty hard and full of a lot of obstacles and setbacks. I was a goofy looking kid, needed corrective surgery on my eyes, and was bullied relentlessly until about middle school when I started playing sports. That said, I've maintained a guarded, introspective demeanor that most people hate for obvious reasons.I feel like I have become increasingly isolated and drifting further apart from everyone since about 2022 or so. I've changed a few jobs and they have not been good fits. I don't fit into the office and I've found meeting new people challenging. This has also been the worst year of my life for dating. I've gone on bad date after bad date. My dating life prior was not too shabby. My friends continue to get into relationships and are now getting married and engaged, including the ones who were considered the most undesirable. Except for me. I'm increasingly getting phased out by everyone in my life. What the fuck do I do? I feel like I'm reaching a crossroads here.
