Why is it so hard to get a girlfriend? I go to college and no girls show any interest or want anything to do with me. Whenever I try to talk to a girl I'm rejected or they give me fuck off signals. When I don't talk to girls they ignore me and pretend I don't exist. A big reason I came to college was for better luck with the ladies but it isn't happening.

Do the girls you go for have things in common with you? Do you go places where you'd meet girls who do? I'm a girl and I like guys who like the things I do. I'm not very shallow about physical appearance other than fashion and style. Work on developing interests you're likely to have in common with women and work out how you can communicate those interests with the way you dress.

Well I like to hike and go to the gym. There are plenty of girls at the gym but The problem is women don't exactly beg for me to talk to them while I'm there and don't seem interested when I initiate a conversation.

Just try to make friends first, and don't have an expectation beyond that. It's really not ideal to approach women at the gym, unless one goes out of her way to show interest in you. It's bullshit but this is the game you have to play.
