I'm an introvert and sometimes people get offended that I don't speak.

Like the other day, someone walked into the room as I was minding my own business, said hello by name to the person across to me, then yelled toward my direction "hello person that doesn't speak"

How do I deal with that?
>>
Try smiling, nodding and waving back.
>>
>too lazy to say hello
thats not introversion, you're just a selfish cunt
>>
>>33593928
correct. that is just being a fucking asshole of epic proportions probably with schizhoaffective disorder
>>
Agreed, it's customary to greet people in social settings. By ignoring them you are being rude. You don't actually have to speak to them, but you can use body language like a quick wave or nod of the head to acknowledge their presence. Then you can remain mute and uninterested if you so desire. They will leave you out of life as usual. Why do people who want to be left alone and left out of life get upset that they're being ignored for their desires? If you are interested in being included in life by others then you have to participate. Otherwise you get passed over. It's not a very hard concept to grasp.

You don't have to always talk, be selective. But don't stay completely silent. Or you get names "person that doesn't speak".

>it's customary to greet people in social settings. By ignoring them you are being rude
Isn't that more of an American thing? At least if you don't already know the person, I don't think most Europoors would notice or care if you kept minding your own business.
>>

>By ignoring them you are being rude
Read the OP again. OP did not ignore anyone. They were not even given the chance to speak. It looks like your reading comprehension skills need a little tuning up there.

>Why do people who want to be left alone and left out of life get upset that they're being ignored for their desires?
They asked how to deal with it. Creating a thread does not equal getting upset. Otherwise, we could count your response as you getting upset at "people who want to be left alone."

>You don't have to always talk, be selective. But don't stay completely silent. Or you get names "person that doesn't speak".
People who have these opinions don't care how much the person that doesn't speak actually speaks. They will always view them as the person that doesn't speak regardless. What's the point? Complete waste of time and energy.

>If you are interested in being included in life by others then you have to participate. Otherwise you get passed over.
Who said they were? Introverts have zero interest in the lives of others. Go ahead, pass them over. They could not care less.

>You don't actually have to speak to them, but you can use body language like a quick wave or nod of the head to acknowledge their presence
And look like a weak beta bitch? Please. They're better off just ignoring the person.

>It's not a very hard concept to grasp.
It looks like it is you that has the difficulty in grasping the concept of introversion here.
>>

Americans are very intolerant of introverts. As seen in this thread. In other parts of the world, like Europe, introverts are more welcome. Asians are a very introverted culture, for example, and wouldn't see this as an issue at all.

>Asians are a very introverted culture
brother have you ever heard two chinese people talking to one another

they sound like they're having a relationship-breaking argument when they're just asking how their day was

>"ackshually, it's everyone except me who's offended"

He is famous and successfully evaded capture from assassins. Very resourceful

most of them are loud as shit screaming bing bong ching chong at each other from across the rice paddies. Bro was just thinking about 50 year old Japanese salarymen on a bullet train on a weekday afternoon and assumed all Asians are like that.

>They were not even given the chance to speak
?

>"hello person that doesn't speak"
>"haha, hey there chief how's it going"

how are introverts even real

If everyone around you is an asshole, then it's probably you who is an asshole.
>>
>>33593807
Theres nothing more pissing off to people than them realising you are not giving them attention. This happens more with old people. If you don't reply to them when the call you hey or your name, they'll get angry af. An incident occurred to me during my bike ride. So after a big climb I was taking rest near the side of the road. One old man came from behind and told he's gonna cut that Banana tree behind me. I looked back and observed everything, the tree was far away from me that when cutting, it wouldn't land on me. I only looked back and didn't reply anything cause he was a stranger. And that old man did not see me looking at it also. He came to me with his knife waving at me and scolding me. Fucking Retard. (Yeah I should have said ok atleast when he talked to me first)

>>33594923
oh look two butthurt extroverts that cant stand it when an introvert doesn't give them any attention
>>

What's an old man doing trying to cut a banana tree?
>>

This is the type of woman that has permission to ruin my life.
>>
>>33595569
What?
>>
>>33595530
not my fault you're too slow to engage in cheeky banter.
If you want to just sit there and quietly absorb insults, go ahead.
>>
>>33595717
true but have you considered that they don't care enough about you as a random stranger to even engage in said cheeky banter?
>>
>>33595767
>they don't care enough about you
they care enough to make threads on 4chan about it
>>
>>33593807
Acknowledge the person. If you live in a society where is rude to he introverted (American/south American) you must acknowledge people's presence somehow. A "nice to meet you !! " or a "fuck off " is preferred over no response at all . This is something you must learn to live with unfortunately. Alternatively, learn to like people. It isn't as hard as it sounds and once you do , everything else will follow
>>
>>33595782
yes but that doesn't mean that they care about you and your cheeky banter
>>
>>33595797
>Alternatively, learn to like people.
Yes I'm sure you like everyone that comes across your path. Every single person you have ever met in your life, you just got along great.
>>
>>33595797
>it's rude to be introverted but saying "fuck off" to someone is better than peacefully minding your own business
lol you can't make this shit up
>>
>>33595816
If someone comes home and makes a thread on 4chan about something, they care about it. Being angry means you care.
>>
>>33595834
>Every single person you have ever met in your life, you just got along great.

By " learn to like people" I meant that you should learn to like human to human interaction even if its just typical small talk bullshit. At the end of the day, humans exist to live , socialize and reproduce. People's company is always preferred to being alone regardless of how much of an introverted you are. Having other people near you is always more pleasant than being alone. If you learn to focus on the pleasant aspect you will automatically learn the social rules that move or world and you will avoid awkward situations like op's.
>>
>>33595888
You sound a bit angry there. Are you okay?
>>
>>33595905
>an extrovert telling an introvert they should be more extroverted
every single time like clockwork :D
>>
>>33595921
I am far from being an extroverted mate . I am just telling what I 've learned after so may struggles .
>>
>>33593807
you could ignore them, be a dick, or try to make them feel bad. its up to you.

"Uh huh" - dismissive but you'll get seen as arrogant
"I'll say something when you're worth talking to" - dick move, but if they're a fuckwit then fuck em
"I'm not a social person, but thanks for making me feel guilty about it" - make them feel like dicks
>>
>>33594318
autistic tardos dont even like other autismos, yet they cant somehow figure out why others dont like them
>>
>>33593807
just report them to hr
>>
>>33597596
there is no hr
>>
>>33596560
just cause some doesn't like talking doesn't mean they don't like you it has nothing to do with you
>>
>>33597724
Be sure to ignore that particular fuckwit extra hard then. No (You)s for him. If anyone else asks about it just tell them he's a bully.
>>
>>33597818
alright sounds good :)
