So I never thought I’d use 4chan as a last resort but fuck it here we are

My sister just got thrown in an Indiana slammer for 4 charges, disorderly conduct-unreasonable noise (Grade B, Type M), battery (Grade B, Type M), Domestic Battery-Child Under 16 Present-Offender Over 18 (Grade 6, Type F), Resist Law Enforcement (Grade A, Type M)

As far as I know what happened was she was probably in public, ended up beating her kid for something she got angry over, got cops called, resisted arrest and put hands on officers, now she’s in the slammer

The big problem is that and the dad, the dad I just found out is an illegal (Mexican native, don’t know if the kids are Mexican citizens as most were born in the states), might’ve had a visa at some point but it’s expired by now, so he cannot get her or the kids and is probably being looked into

So my main concern is the kids, as you can probably guess the kids are my nieces/nephews, only two are blood related, the rest are from the dads side who I have no blood relation to

Why I just found out about all of this is because I’m almost certain the dads main concern is not being thrown back to Mexico, we only heard about it from one of my sisters friends (frequent family visitor)

So my main questions are these:

1. are those kids about to become state custody? If the dad is caught as illegal, and the mom is now charged with physically hitting them, what are the odds
2. Should I take in the blood related kids if I can afford it? Or would it be better to just let the state handle them
3. Should I report the dad if the dad isn’t already caught illegal? Or should I just let it be
4. How long should it take until I can expect bond or bail info? I don’t even have a jail facility and I’m not sharing charges or names here (though if someone manages to actually find it I give my sincerest congratulations) but take my word for it, it hasn’t yet been posted, she was arrested at midnight today

can't really help you but here's a song https://youtu.be/yAA2rGxblLU
2. Do you like the kids? If so take them.

Take in the kids, report the dad for being illegal, can’t help you with bail info since I have no experience with the justice system. That mom and dad sound like pieces of shit.

I won't read invasive species threads.

My limited understanding of the justice system there is that your sister's bail hearing should happen really quite soon - possibly within a week. Those offences don't sound very serious, so she'll probably be granted bail, and if she can pay it, she'll be out of jail and able to look after the kids again at that point.

So, the decent, human, Christian thing to do would be for you to look after ALL of the children, not just the ones related to you, just for the next few days; then help your sister post bail. And in the mean time get her a lawyer if you possibly can.

I think you're being a little hard on the father. I'm sure the children are his first priority, but if they're in the US and he's been deported to Mexico, he *can't* look after them from there; so of course he's trying not to get deported.

And as for reporting him, don't think about him, think about your sister, and particularly about the children. Do you want to be directly responsible for several children, some of them related to you, growing up without a father? When they ask their mother what happened to their dad, do you want her to say "You'll never see your father again because your piece of shit uncle is a snitch"? If it were me, I wouldn't want that on my conscience.

children born in the US are automatically citizens, regardless of the status of their parents. Children born outside of the US with one citizen parent can get naturalized quickly if they have lawful status in the US.

Most of these questions dont concern you and will be revealed in time. Exception is

Up to you. No one can tell you this one. Can you afford them? Do you want to? Then yes.
But you dont have an obligation to them just because your sister pussy shit them out. If you care about them, sure, I would if I were in your shoes. But really, dont think its something you have to do.

At first I thought 2. maybe he should take the kids but if the sister beats the kids and you take them OP are (You) prepared to protect them from your own family?

Maybe bail her out, take in your blood relatives if need be, and report the dad. They can probably deport his foreigner fuck trophies with him.

Don't take the kids, your sister a demented whore

If your sister is white with no previous record a decent lawyer will get it knocked down to a fine and time served.

This, guaranteed in the Constitution, is no longer assured, thanks to the current US President.

>1. are those kids about to become state custody? If the dad is caught as illegal, and the mom is now charged with physically hitting them, what are the odds
It's a maybe. Domestic violence is a crime worthy of deportation, as it's seen as a danger to the community. However it's not the dad who committed the crime. Still, I've heard of some cases where American citzen children get deported along with their parents, because there's no one else to take them in and the system was full.

>2. Should I take in the blood related kids if I can afford it? Or would it be better to just let the state handle them
Yes take them in if you can. If those kids go into the foster system, there's a good chance they can get separated. Afaik most kids that get put in foster care seem miserable.

>3. Should I report the dad if the dad isn’t already caught illegal? Or should I just let it be
Ehh let it be as long he's not doing drug cartel shit or hurting anyone.

>4. How long should it take until I can expect bond or bail info?
Idk about that...but if you do find out about it later, you can either pay in full (get your money back when your sister shows up to court)
Or pay 10% of that bail to a bail bondsman to loan you the money (if you go this route, you don't get your money back.)
Actually it's even more important that your sister shows up to court if you pay the 10% to the bail bondsman, so they can get their money back. If she skips town and misses her court date, they won't get paid, and they can go after her legally.
