Should I join a leftist political group in the hope of getting friends? I'm 19 yo M.
>>
Leftists don't have friends, only filters to get rid of the unpure

>only filters to get rid of the unpure
what does this mean?

>in the hope of getting friends?

a slim hope. politically oriented people tend to perceive others as mere tools. I'd rather recommend a sport or a hobby, or a university if you have ambition
>>
>>33604855
No. Politically active leftists, especially young ones, tend to make bad cliquish friends

Endless purity tests
It doesn't matter if you're jesus, ghandi, or bhudda come again you're an alt-right nazi because you didn't buy the locally produced, organic lettuce for your tofuburger
>>

I think this applies to right wingers too tbhon

It's not exclusive to leftists or politics but it's the topic of the thread
The corporate world is like this afaik

You won't make "friends" with political extremists.

You can join their cult and adhere to their ideology. That's it. If you deviate from their code, you will become anathema and they will all drop you like a sack of shit.

So, the question is, do you want to enslave your mind with this ideology for a sense of community? If so, then go ahead. And you don't have to pick leftism, you can pick any extremist group, so go choose.
>>

Join a pro white group instead
>>
>>33604855
Yeah sure if you want friends that will backstab you the moment you don't 100% line up with their ideological purity tests
>>

You're right then. I am a total leftist myself but some lefties are totally insane purists or just straight delusional at times. (Examples: fictional content discourse, complete devotion to Palestine, aversion to nuance, etc). I'll admit I used to be one of them but to be fair I was a chronically online twitter obsessed young teen so give me grace. I just don't bring up politics or discourse too much with my friends though, so you'll be okay unless you're friends with some alt right neonazi or whatever.
>>
>>33604855
Nah, not really
t. leftist
>>
>>33605981
I wouldn't go looking for political friends personally, anyone too "into it" is subject to psychosis and hysteria because that's the level of discourse
I'm a moderate, probably

as a genuine leftist, just finding groups or tendencies is not effective because people join because they are pushed out of mainstream society, which naturally means there's going to be a lot of marginal people (in the same way free speech groups have like 2 principled people and 10 nazi edgelord members)

you should instead find local causes that require you to be a normal functional person contributing time and effort to the world. that is how you will find people worth knowing. truth of the matter is the maga chud who is genuinely fighting for his union is a better leftist than people memorizing the 18th brumaire and talking about praxis and doing nothing with their opinions
