kinda dumb but does anyone else get into a mood of not feeling bothered to reply to a friend’s messages? I have a friend of mine where we tend to send each other IG reels or memes or whatever else, random shit, but I just haven’t felt like answering in days. Kinda feels like a chore sometimes. I have a couple other friends I’m not too close to that I have a hard time getting around to replying to. This normal?

I have it to and I even accidentally hurt people with it who take this personally
very annoying

I've gone literally like 6 months before replying to a instagram text message with someone that I used to go to school with.

I have like 4 friends i regularly exchange memes with and Ill take like up to 2 weeks or more to look at something often, there is no obligation to reply quickly to stuff like that

Yes. I Just did this today after not replying for 10 days to a girl I am not too fond of.

I had surgery earlier today and I was only wanting to concentrate on happy, positive thoughts instead of getting sucked into some potential drama blackhole. Turned out the message was positive and had I read it before my surgery I would have said thank you. But I know the person is a bit of a drama llama so I avoided it. I kinda felt a little bad but hey, I had more important things to worry about and focus attention on, my health. Anyhow, I just said, thank you and sorry for not replying earlier but I had lots going on to sort through. Leave it at that. No more, no less...

Your phone is YOUR communication tool, not theirs. Don't let others dictate how and when you communicate.

But it is nice to be thought of and that person was thinking of you even though it comes across as a pain in the butt at times. So think of it in those terms, otherwise having no one message you or reply to you is really lonely.

There's nothing of substance or actual engagement, making it underwheming. So of course you won't feel like messaging them.

This, pretty much

I've noticed that usually happens when they usually send stuff not worth replying to, like 5 reels in a row. The only reels I acknowledge are from my sister since I moved out for college and don't get to see her much.
