How do I become more diligent in my studies? I'm 25 years old and I've returned to university. How do I become a diligent student? I don't have problems with learning, but with concentration.
>>33638289Set a consistent schedule for waking up and going to bed. When you wake up, exercise, shower, and then meditate (works for me at least).Study in a place with no distractions. You can start by doing X amount of problems or reading X amount of pages (or even just a few minutes of uninterrupted work) then taking a short break (just stare out the window or process the info you took in, maybe even small exercises, don't open up a tab or whatever). Alternate between those but slowly increase the amount of time/work you are doing between breaks (pomodoro method). Eventually you can focus entirely. The important takeaways are:>Concentration is like a muscle, you train it and it gets stronger.>Consistency is key. A small failure is not the end of the world, just get back to it.>Make a plan of what you will do.I would also recommend minimizing time spent on any activities that will heavily mess with your brain. Look, I love gooning/gaming/anime/4chan/social media as much as the next guy on here, but I would save that for the end of the day and not even for your breaks if you decide to do those. If it becomes a major problem just uninstall/use a blocker on whatever. Also make sure you are screen free at least an hour before bed, use that hour to read or whatever. One final thing is you may not need the breaks or can adjust them if you choose to do the pomodoro method, find out what works for you. Just start small, start ASAP, and try again whenever you fail. That's all you gotta do.
>>33638449Good advice. I really have trouble sleeping. I sleep late at night and wake up after noon. In addition to using 4chan for six hours a day.
>>33638289get adderall and don’t abuse it
>>33638565Since you are at college I would try and replace as much 4chan usage with irl social interaction as it will help you in the long run (networking friends, studying/projects, etc.). You don't have to be a productivity monster (nobody is), but at least for the time being that is my recommendation. If you need to cut it out entirely then do so.
Go to the library to study
>>33638289Have a study locationNo phone, no games, no distractionsDont get a gaming laptop, switch, etc. Have a boring weak school laptop
>>33638289Adderall next thread
>>33638289Treat studying like a 9-5 job. Set a timetable for yourself with an around 15-30 minute lead up into your study session that gives you time to orientate yourself with your work and to begin to focus e.g. remove distractions, close 4chan tabs etcStructure breaks accorindly and not ad hoc e.g. 5 mins every hours or so.And this >>33638670
>>33638289Holy shit it's the guy who introduced Tarzan to the fantastic world of gay sex
>>33638565There’s an app called Screen Zen that will lock you at out of apps after a certain amount of time. So let’s say you want to cut your screen time down to 2 hours a day on 4chan. You can set a timer for two hours and then it’ll lock you out of your web browser for the amount of time you chose.
>>33638571If you go this route, make sure you looking out for negative side effects too. Instant release Adderall works fine for me but something in the formula of Adderall XR makes me wired and zombie like. Couldn’t sleep for days at a time on it.
