Anyone here had experience working as a fisherman in Alaska? Or just being part of a fishermen crew on the Arctic before?I have an oppurtunity to go to Alaska and work for three months there, 12 hours a day. It has good pay. I know its hard work but my biggest question how dangerous is it?Any anon here had experience with it? What are your thoughts in general if you know someone who did?
I've been kicking around the idea of going and doing that. I wonder how fit you have to be to be able to get the job done. Would also be interested in any tips, is it a good gig for antisocial freaks like myself or is it just another continuing networking grind like everything else?
>>33638874I had a friend who was part of a fishing crew in Alaska for a summer. From what he said it sounded like a good gig, you've got your crewmates and that's pretty much who you hang out with, also he said they could go multiple days without touching land. Didn't mention anything about it being dangerous>>33638972No networking just you and the crew, though occasionally see other people to offload the fish etc. Not sure how fit you need to be, my friend was a bigger guy but not sure that's a requirement
Bump.
>>33638874They made it sound pretty dangerous and demanding on that show The Greatest Catch.
>>33642027Not OP, but:>basing reality off of a TV showThat show was greatly exaggerated. Like most "reality" TV shows.
