For some context, I've never liked kids. I don't HATE them, at least in the abstract, but I do hate being *around* them. And when I say kids I suppose I mean younger than 10-12 or so, like a 3 year old or 6 year old.Anyway to get to the point, I recently broke my leg and lost out on a job so I moved in with my Mom and stepdad. Problem is, my younger sister sometimes has her 5 year old kid visit for a few days and I am reluctant to spend time with him. He seems to be obssessed with me and idolizes me, and while he's a smart and well behaved kid, he's still a kid and he's insanely energetic and wound up all the time.I will usually go on a walk with him or play catch/frisbee for an hour or so but it's about all I can tolerate. I once spent about 6 hours with him and I can honestly say I've never felt so drained from another person as I did that day.I'm not mean to him by any means I'm very friendly and encouraging with him but it's just too exhausting. Right now he's tapping my my window outside and I'm just ignoring it. This whole experience has further convinced me that I never want kids and it's given me even more reason to get a vasectomy ASAP.Does anyone else relate, and how do I ease the guilt of not wanting to spend very much time with him? Maybe when he's older and can actually have real conversations and do fun things like ride on my motorcycle or play video games, I'll be more inclined to spend time with him, but as it stands I just cannot stand being around him.
for the record i'm a mid 30s male btw
Either explain to him that you need alone time or tell your sister to explain to him that you need alone time.
>>33662492Go play Minecraft with the kid. The kid is 5 that's old enough to mine.If he's got ADD put it to use, take him somewhere he can run around like a maniac like a park while the parents chill. You can meet chicks that way. Single moms, but a hole's a hole.
>>33662512I don't have a car I only have a motorcycle so I cant really take him anywhere but I would like to take him to a disc golf course, maybe I can borrow a family members car.>>33662510I don't think he would understand or care. My sister doesn't care either I don't think she expects me to spend time with him. My Mom probably thinks I should but she hasn't vocalized it and she seems understanding. So I don't really know where the guilt is coming from.
>>33662546also i hate minecraft . i did play mario kart 64 with him but its on my PC so it was less playing and more watching him play. i don't own any gaming consoles
>>33662492>And when I say kids I suppose I mean younger than 10-12 or so, like a 3 year old or 6 year old.So you're a hebephile.
>>33662656no i like woman aged 17-20
>>33662666Good answer. Never admit your attraction on the internet. LE could be watching. ;)
>>33662492Find a chick your age who likes kids, one of those who want to become a teacher or teaches sunday school at church for fun."Hey I got a great date idea, I have this nephew and he wants to hang out next weekend ..." Then fade into the shadows and shitpost on 4chan while she baby sits the kid. This will either give the chick a severe case of baby rabies, or act like birth control such that you're never getting any from her ever again. Depends how it goes. Not the craziest idea ever.Another option is find the organized sport for kids his age. If he's exhausting, let him exhaust kids his age playing on a soccer team while uncle anon gets him to and from practice. Might meet some single moms this way, again, might be good might be bad, hard to say.
>>33662510>need alone timeThis is honestly something OP should have thought about before sponging off his stepdad's wallet.
>>33662939i should have thought about the fact that I don't like kids before i broke my legs and moved in with my folks? makes total sense
>>33663128>i should have thought about the fact that I don't like kids before i moved in with my folks?Yes. You, by your own free will, put yourself into a situation where there would be lots of kid time. Or were you previously unaware that adults frequently dump their kids off at the grandparents for extended periods of time?
>>33662492I have the same problem lolMy niece lives very close to me and she's at my parents house everydayI can play with her for a max of one hour, give or takeWhen I want to get rid of her I tell her I lie to her that I either need to do homework or sleepSometimes I straight up tell her I have a headache and need some time aloneBut she is 8 and she kinda gets it
