Made $120k this year as a 29yr old.

How do I make sure I can create generational wealth going forward.
>>
I'm 22 and made $130k in 2024 and don't even know how much I made this year because I haven't converted it to USD (I make money off ROBLOX) but I expect it to be much higher than $130k as my game has grown 22% since 2024. Just felt like shitting on you. I don't even do anything it's just passive income I have some devs I pay in ROBUX who do mostly everything. I live like a NEET but make over six figures.

Real answer, don't pick up any expensive hobbies, don't try to realize your dream of your own mechanic shop or something like that, live like a miserly kike and enjoy nothing. I'm dead serious, all my hobbies sucked up my money. Focus on your career, build your safety nets, and make a plan for your next step always. Start thinking of investing into a business or two, that's how you really make money. Also 129k is great, congrats OP. I run my own company but never paid myself more than 70k. I never earned beyond that at any job also. I don't know what it's like to get that much. Your employers paying like 6k a month just to keep you around.
>>
>>33668576
>6k
I mean 16k a month. Fat fingers
>>

Congrats anon that's a pretty good thing you found for yourself. Maybe now with that disposable income you can take time to find something that actually makes you happy so you don't have to crap on people on anonymous forums. Maybe bum around in a diff country
>>
>>33668576
Yeah, no idea what business. I've tried several but they always ended up losing me money and ending up with way more work than my job. So far just been building up a couple youtube channels posting music in one and documentaries/video essays in the other. Maybe eventually one of them ends up going somewhere but it's mainly for fun when I'm done with work.

Keep it inflation protected. Real estate, gold. Crypto? lol. I guess if you want to get hacked and rely on chinese tech.

Keep your health up -- you can't buy that. Date and marry a thrifty giver, only.
>>
>>33668613
Yeah that would be the dream.. right? Probably start looking at charts and figure out what resource might fare well in the coming years. A friend of mine bought a hotel near a new planned gas pipeline and refinery, that sort of thing.

Investing 20% of your income if you're making big papes is considered bog standard. Some people wouldn't think 120K is big papes but you're smarter than them. You invest the money to get at least 7% returns after accounting for inflation and you leave that money alone.
>>
>>33668543

how steady is this 129K is the real question, you confident you can make it again and again?

If deep down you think this is just a 1-3 year situation before the burnout hits OR data has shown that time and time again that people give out after 6-7 years in whatever field this is. That's a critical piece of information to know and you should plan with that in mind then assume you are any exception to the rule.

- if burnout is real in this job and your days are ultimately numbered
> save up , enough to pay off 3/4 of a toyota or a honda if u are in a car city - that car will be with you for life / the next 18 years easily. Here's the key though , DON'T buy it until the gravy train ends and put that money in an investment portfolio in the mean time - safest investments only , this is your car fund explicitly it just needs to match inflation. A car is a depreciating asset you want to get max value on , if you can take the train and get a cheap beater car for groceries , do that instead.

Don't hesitate to leverage status to save money, tell your hoes you make 120K and she'll think you're smart for saving money and plow her anyway. Let her think she got you but pull the cord when its time.

> NEVER get married before the gravy train ends , whatever you earn during marriage or cohabitation is fair game for the courts. If you want to take it one step further and can trust your parents, put some key assets like a home in your mothers name. Your mother generally speaking always has your back/understands a rachet hoe when she sees one.

Take up cheap hobbies
- think gardening
- volunteering
- church

Worthwhile investments
- medical appointments, meet a nutritionist, do DNA analysis, DEXA Scan , figure out your natural strengths and weaknesse, take care of any nagging issues, and learn how to eat a clean diet 6 days a week. Figure out what relaxation methods work for you (massage, meditation, etc) what frequency

- clean your water and food

most people don't do that stuff cause they can't afford it but much of these things are one time costs in earnest, once you have the information you never have to see them again in all honesty unless you lazy as shit

and you have that information about yourself for life , just keep it safe in a cloud storage or something

Otherwise live a lowkey and subdued life , there's no need to waste money at bars , you are a young professional , you'll find girls literally anywhere clawing to be with you now once they learn who you are. You are now the prize in many ways , you do not have to put up with hoe cashapp or buy me this buy me that games which will save you even more money.

- if you believe this job is stable (in this economy , can you really?)

> network network network
You need to know all the players in your town and industry and this means paying for industry mixers , but do not keep up with the joneses , the key is to win them with your personality so build one if you haven't already. If you are competent they will want to know you anyway.

And yes you'll have to play tennis or golf or some bougie shit like that or skiing if they're into that.

INVESTMENT ADVICE
Low cost INDEX FUNDS for the bulk of your money , never mutual funds their fees are too high

Most generational wealth is squandered by the subsequent generations. The best way to maintain your family's wealth is to instill the proper values, discipline and appreciation into your children that allows for independent success, so that your work isn't just used for their betterment but utilized as the resource it is in order to build more. It doesn't matter how much you have or what you do if you raise a pampered jackass who values pleasure, luxury and sedentary life over the hard work you put in to allow them such things. The paradox, perhaps, is that for you to have such wealth and resources to offer them, you'll have to work very hard and very long hours, making you less present in their life, which won't allow you to develop that kind of relationship in the first place. Damned if you do or don't, so the best of all options is to not work too much that you barely know your own child or don't have time to form lasting memories and impressions with them. Even if you don't make them rich in your lifetime, you can make them good, well-adjusted people who can find their fortune themselves. The ability to create wealth is much more important than having it, and having an actual relationship with your parents is more important than having wealth.

yeah, made $100k starting out 4 years ago. Prior to that made $80k for 3 years in another job.
>Otherwise live a lowkey and subdued life
yep, this is what I've been doing. I pocket at least half my income and live in a really cheap apartment. I work from home too. I could make even more but working from home is literally NEET mode and lets me work on youtube videos a lot.
>bar girls
yeah, never been interested in these chicks. Honestly I've met a lot of girls and none seem wife material. I'm thinking at this point I'd rather just not bother with that kind of gamble. I don't like the kind of person I'd have to become to attract them either.
> network network network
lost me here. I hate linking up with these sociopaths. I feel it's so fake. I genuinely rather die.
>index funds
yeah, like 60% of my wealth is in index funds (roughly 100k+). The other chunk is in a HYSA and an alt coin I plan to sell in a couple months.

>>33669164
>family's wealth
my family is in debt, so won't get a penny. I always grew up in poverty. My two brothers are NEETs mid 20s living with my parents sharing a little bedroom. I only managed to pull out because of reddit/4chan helping me with advice over the years. I make it seem like I barely can pay bills, but I do offer to pay for their groceries from time to time and medical insurance. I gift them a lot of money too for birthdays.
>having an actual relationship with your parents is more important than having wealth.
yeah, I spend a lot of time with them. I don't know if I want my own kids though. Like I said above haven't found anyone that seems a good mother and who I can stand to be with all the time. At 29 I can accept it is what it is.
>>
>>33668566
what do you pay your devs?
>>
>>33668566
don't drop the method brodie, we have to gatekeep
>>
I made $0K this year as a 40 year old... holy shit
>>
>>33668543
Spend less than you make
>>
every $10000 in vtsax has been making me $500/mo. this year, can't even imagine what its like for people that actually know stocks. you have to be retarded to not make money right now
>>
>>33671279
Wouldn't you make a lot more just putting into index funds or precious metals?
>>
>>33668543
brother you are not creating generational wealth with 120k/year. That's enough to take care of your kids and live a comfortable middle-class life but nowhere close to "generational wealth."

You need to make more money. The most reliable way to become a millionaire at your age is to start a business.

BUT you must ask yourself: would it be worth it? Is the comfy middle-class life not enough for you? The thing about the middle class is it's the best place to be. The lower class people suffer because they don't have enough, the upper class suffer because they have too much, but the middle class has just enough, which is the best place to be.

>brother you are not creating generational wealth with 120k/year
It's a starting point. I'm just asking where to go from here? No need to be hostile. Already saved up roughly 150-200k in index funds/HYSA. I could have just bought btc from day 1 and I'd have 7 figs but I didn't think to ask for financial advice when I started working so better late than never. I just worked and kept my nose down while saving as much as I could. I tried a few businesses, but they just didn't pan out well. At this point I'm just building out a couple youtube channels, which I know isn't really a business but could potentially pay the bills in some years if I continue to stay consistent. If I do that then I could live anywhere in the world, no boss and still doing something I really enjoy.
>would it be worth it?
I have no idea. I've only been poor and middle class and being middle class is a million times better. I ate really unhealthy slop while growing up, dealt with a narcissistic mother daily, worked horrible low paying jobs and shared a bedroom with two brothers (one with bad autism). Now I live alone in a 2bed, 2 bath while working from home. It's so much better. I could only image being upper class let's me travel a lot more and focus on hobbies at a greater capacity. And I don't mean have too much but have my income from investments to be greater than my living expenses.
Even if I was worth 100M I'd just drive something like picrel and wear lowkey clothes, no watch, just focused on my art.
