I have a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. Had my first when I was 23. Wife had post partum depression I don't think she ever recovered or is just not happy anymore. We don't really have sex because she's tired all the time. I don't think I ever really wanted them but just had them because that's what you're supposed to do when you're married. I would say to learn to enjoy what you have and embrace it, even if its not exactly what you wanted for yourself in life.
You're able bodied, you can work. You're sound of mind, you have a wife and family. Probably some sort of savings, a stable place to live. It might not always feel like it but you have a lot to work with.

Instead of thinking how you need to abandon things, I would suggest really brainstorming what you can improve.
It sounds like your wife might need therapy, is she getting that? Is there a way you can free up more time for you in a way that's also fair for your kids? Since you're the parent you can influence their behavior, are there things you can do to encourage your kids to be more likable? Are there any shared activities both you and them can enjoy that will help you meaningfully bond?

Now what if your kids don't do any of that? Based on his other post his 4 year "might be autistic", which means probably some level of non-verbal. What if you never really develop? I have 4 kids. 7,5,4, 3 months. Started at age 30, so at least I got to enjoy my 20s. The oldest is/was too ADHD to just relax and read books to at night. Gets out of bed, moves around a bunch, if I tell her I'm going to leave if she can't sit and read with me it's crying and begging me to stay. If I stay she just gets up again and does more ADHD goofing. Tried for a year, gave up. Still read every night but just allow the ADHD flailing. Too clumsy to do anything physical or coordinated, so extracurriculars are a no-go. Just not a person you can meaningfully foster growth and development in, so it feels like a waste.

The 5 year old is a minimally verbal autistic. He will probably never move out or get a job. I'm just hoping he learns complete speech by age 7. If they make it to 7 without properly talking they probably never will. With any luck I'll be close to retirement by the time he's an adult and we can just do autistic hobbies together.

I kind of get you. My kid is young but ever since he was born there was a succession of very hard hits in my life.

I like spending time with him, but we separated with his mother, she pretty much threw me out to keep the kid.

I don't want to spend time with the law because it's expensive and my parents fucked me up with their own war over who is keeping the kids and who gets the money. My father was the biggest ass to ever walk this earth.

I try to treat my kid like a partner, almost like an adult. And he is surprisingly smart and receptive. Truth is I bargain with him, trying to think of solutions that would benefit him and his mother against things that I want for myself.

My life has turned to absolute shit but I stopped smoking, drinking and other bad habits are disappearing. However I though that would make my life easier, not harder. Now if there is an after to the shitfest that is my current life and I get what I want, that will be golden, not only for me but for everyone.
