if i have social media accounts that dont use my real name and i only have them to consume content, while no one knows who i am behind the profile, does it count as having social media, socially? i'm considering closing them because i don't want people to think socially that i have social media, when people ask i just tell them i have accounts but i keep them lowkey and anonymous which sounds kinda cringe imo too. also call me weird or sth but i hate lying so i can't just say to people i don't have social media when i technically do. any form of lying doesn't sit right with me

>>33678627Well, you should do what suits you. If you can't delete your accounts because your friends use them then change the profile picture or name behinid it and not post anything. Its your choice to make lad.
>>33678636believe it or not i'm 27. what makes you think i am underage though?
>>33678654>If you can't delete your accounts because your friends use them then change the profile picture or name behinid it and not post anythingi don't interact with my irl friends on my anonymous accounts nor do i use pics of me or real name.i just wanna get opinions on which choice is better/less cringe: deleting social media altogether, or explaining the reasons why i do have social media but don't share it when and if asked
>>33678666hoo easy there satan.>27 heh, me too except i never even made (the mistake of making) any accounts in the first placegotya :^)>does it count yes>no one knows whohoo. they know well. MAC adress, ip, cookies, ect ect. basic triangulation baby stuff.>any form of lying doesn't sit right with methis is good and admirable. keep that up>deleting social mediais better in all cases. it is healthier and liberating.also having it deleted for good is like a cleaning ritual. once youve done it, yove done it and are thru with it! instead of consoom and doomscrolling, you can go out; to the library, do sports, meditation, painting ect ect experience actual reality how it is.is your boyfriend pressuring you to close your social media accounts? honestly, if/when ill acquire my future woman, i too will press her to close all this negative timewasting shit. i want her for me, to be mine, completely. the only exception ill accept is her to reconnect with her parents or relativesi always tell people with whom i have/they have with me business that they can either call me, write an SMS or an email/letter; but only in order to meet up in actual real life.
>>33678627>i just tell them i have accounts but i keep them lowkey and anonymous which sounds kinda cringe imo too.Holy shit thats a cringy long story. "Yeah I have a XYZ but I don't use it" end of story. There seems to be no imaginable advantage to making socializing IRL even more cringe by deleting your accounts. Most people have accounts and don't use them. Like 95% of my high school graduation class has a facebook acct and only about 5 people use facebook and nobody cares because its all ads and propaganda nobody wants to see. You're not the main character of the movie and social media is not that interesting; you're not going to be called to make an 18 minute long public speaking presentation about why you deleted your socials. Just ignore the entire topic and don't use the accounts.
>OP has social mediaThat shit is for people that want a reason to end their own life. Unless you're one of those robot pieces of shit that run on vanity I dont see why you'd second guess yourself. I can tell you from experience is like orgasm from the ass each time I don't log in to something
