But to answer your question I've somehow managed to have a lot of one night stands in my time by flailing around on Tinder and fucking coworkers. I don't feel guilty for those but I did have this one extended FWB situation with a girl that I lied to a lot and I really thought she was a awful boring person and she clearly wanted me to take her seriously and that was never going to happen.But the guilty feel predates all that, whenever I think about a woman I feel like I'm betraying an internal image of myself. I feel like blaming my mother somehow

Take a step back from women and combat your self confidence issues. Think about what areas you think you lack in and actively work on them. Set goals, formulate ways to work on them, and keep track of it. Fix your own mentality. This has nothing to do with women. This has everything to do with how you see yourself or placing their view of you above your own. And to do that (put their view of you above your own) is death. They are emotional. Fickle. Most of the time they don't even know how they're going to feel a few minutes from now. Talking to the same girl at three different points in the day...you might actually be talking to three different people (emotionally). Does that sound like a stable foundation to build *anything* on? No. So build that foundation on yourself. Build your own emotional grounding so the waves of arbitrary feminine emotion have zero effect.
