I've officially come to the conclusion that bitching about my numerous problems, to mental health professionals or otherwise, doesn't really seem to help me. I know exactly where I'm at in life, and it's not good, and I'm not happy. I've got no past to feel proud of, and am full of regrets.I've got a serious problem initiating *any* changes in my life, be it moving out, attempting to find a new job, or continuing projects/hobbies. Is it just down to taking medications at this point?
This thread isn't going to help either
>>33699961Now you're getting it!But really, a step by step would be helpful. I'm a broken retard, surely there's a broken retard playbook.
>>33699932Medications could help, but it depends on your disease. For ADD, it definitely helps. For depression, it can but it needs to be the right drug at the right dosage and that could take a lot of trial and error to discover
>>33699932>>33699980Money will fix most of your problems. With 100k you could looksmaxx a little, with 500k you can buy a house, with 100k you can buy a car and some other motorized toys, drop in a few more 100k's on some hobby projects and then have at least 100k coming in every year and you will be a very happy man. Essentially you need a couple millions to be happy. It will also increase your chances of finding a quality woman, this will be the hardest part and money can't buy you that but it can help you be in a position where you are around women sometimes, more so than the average normgroid wagie. tldr; it's all money and nothing if you are mid or ugly
>>33699932The average therapist is well trained for an average person experiencing depression like that from a lost loved one or a recent downturn in fortunes. What they aren't well trained for are deep seated longstanding disorders - like what I suspect in your case to be either schizoid personality disorder or paranoid personality disorder. I suggest leafing through the DSM-V and seeing how much you resonate with the symptom descriptions of those two conditions. If either of them seem to fit take that information to the next mental health professional you talk to because even if those aren't accurate for your mental condition it should point them in a direction of more intense therapy to treat your whole problem instead of what to you would feel like practicing pointless platitudes.
>>33702835I don't think it's either of those, although SPD seems to be closest. Last therapist I saw said I was exhibiting pretty heavy OCD symptoms, and considering my mother probably has it, I wouldn't be surprised if I inherited it. If by 'intense therapy' you mean CBT, I guess? The extent of my therapy over probably 20 years has been 'don't be so hard on yourself :)'
