Looking at pictures of myself from about ~2 years ago when my hair was shorter, it was decidedly wavy and not curly. Now that I've grown it out longer it's curly rather than wavy and far bushier. Is there any way I can reverse this?

No, your hair behaves different short and at a longer length, your can straighten it and because you have curly hair it will be more wavey rather than curly straightened.
