Anons who got actual jobs this year, how the hell did you get hired? I've done over 20 interviews this year and have yet to land a single job. Closest I got was a door-to-door and sales job but I refused the offer after the guy told me I'd have to carpool with other salesman instead of using my own car (I live around a lot of Indians)
>>33715488I've had nearly 30 jobs and I'm not even 30 yet. Trust me when I say, the job market truly just sucks that bad. I'm laying low in a smaller state with a friend now, studying for an A+ cert and then shooting for a basic ass job as a public school IT guy or similar. My highest ambitions are essentially "survive long enough to get really fucking fat, die relatively comfortable on my own terms before retirement age."
Graduated 2 years ago and still applying. I'm not even getting calls for interviews. It's absolute shit out there
>>33715503what field?
>>33715501Grim.
>>33715528Studied computer science at school and graduated with a BS, trying to get a job as a software engineer. I swear it feels like that market doesn't exist anymore. Or if it does, it only exists for senior roles or H-1B visas, no in between
>>33715554Isn't the ai bubble about to pop soon anyways?
>>33715488The problem is ALWAYS at the point where you stall. If your resume were at fault, you wouldn't get any interviews. If you're getting interviews you look fine on paper. But you're fucking up the interviews somehow
>>33715503>>33715501these are the people that will call you "racist" for being anti-immigration, btw.
>>33717286i'm in a similar situation. but I don't blame immigration, everyone's just trying to survive. i do blame these greeedy corporations though who keep cutting roles to keep shareholders happy and to give bigger bonuses to theor executives.
>>33715488I got a consultant job out of sheer luck. I work at certain engineering company and got frustrated with low salary so started sending my resumes this year. It was in bursts of like 12 applications in a day, then 6 then nothing for 2 weeks rinse and repeat until the last month. Had 3 of them respond during all that time. The consultancy job I didn't really like so I've asked them for a salary I thought they wouldn't give me and they were like ok sounds great and it would be dumb for me to say no.It's all luck imo.
>>33715488I literally sent two CVs, had two interviews and got two job offers. Right out of college. Luckily my field is in high demand.
>>33717612n****** why would you type that and not tell us the field
>>33715488If you got 20 interviews and no jobs something is wrong at the interview stage. Go to a career counselor about this. Your state government very, very likely provides this service for free. They dont call interviews for people theyre not seriously considering hiring. Youre fucking it up there. You need to find out how.
I moved 2,000 miles to a low-population, low-diversity, resource rich part of the country. I put in an application, then called the office. I got hired after 1 day
>>33717354I wouldn't hate Indians if they realized bringing their entire extended families (I knew a guy in highschool that did that) overseas and charging up real estate, even though they're considered "rich" back home, was a bad idea for the county their emigrating to in the long run but they're either opportunists who don't give a shit or the types of Indians who larp as white and try to agree with everyone else by saying their parents were "real Canadians" and the Transfer students have to go
>>33717775I'm in healthcare. I make twice as much as my code monkey friends, work less and found work super easily, and I will never stop mocking them for it.
>>33717780I think it's because I'm haggling for a fair wage for the job instead of settling for near minimum wage. I know that's a bad look for this economy but I don't want to be paid $20 as a adjuster when other guys with the same skill set as me can be paid $25/hr or more >>33717780I live up north in Leafville
>>33717897Is the situation that bad in Canada?
>>33717913If you mean Canada (me too) then yeah, career counseling is most definitely free and run by your provincial government. Yeah, $20 an hour is kinda garbage here. I get it. But its better than zero and theres no reason you can't just accept a job, have income, then keep applying..
>>33718258In some places like Surrey and Brampton, yes. Brapton is like 80% Brown or Black. It's the Detroit of Canada
>>33718258Not him. Depends where you are. Im from Brampton (originally) as we call it, bramladesh. It is that bad there. We moved there in 1988 when I was really young so I watched the entire thing.
>>33718268>>33718414Genuinely curious how it got like that. Every country has immigration. What's different in Canada.
>>33718441Concentration. Its a country of 30 million with just a handful of major city centers. If youre an immigrant you're probably going to Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Or Vancouver. We also had a lot of growth over a pretty strong period (which dropped to zero like 10 years ago.. yayy.. but we were #1 of HDI in the 90s.) But low birth rates and an aging population demographic so Canada had to lean pretty hard into immigration to keep up, and people of canada took a lot of pride in multiculturalism, so it didnt become a politically contentious issue until fairly recently. So all the parties, cons, ndp, libs, were pretty in favour of immigration.Tbh thats still an issue. We still need immigration to keep shit going or were gonn end up like south Korea. But also everyone's exhausted with it, so, wtf do you do?
>>33718488Thank you for replying have a great day

>>33717286I'm literally a self professed American cultural chauvenist. I know mass migration is one of the biggest causes for our current situation. Don't fucking speak for me, nigger.
>>33718778If you're an "American Cultural Chauvinist" in 2025 you're far off the mark. Do you think culture just springs out of the ground? Is the dirt magic?
>>33718783I am aware that a large portion of culture is downstream from race.
>>33718783What, you want to fight about things we agree on or not? You wanna declare that anyone that isn't screaming about birthrates at the dinner table is your enemy or what? I agreed with you that culture and race are connected, that's your cue to be a MASSIVE FAGGOT and question a position I don't have in order to score political points with an anonymous stranger to soothe your ego. That's what this site is made for, right? Rightwing self-sabotage by minor disagreements and bad faith assumptions about anyone that isn't exactly like you?You were why the movement puttered out in 2017. You are why people like me are more interested in localism than retarded fights about things we can barely conceptualize. So go ahead and vindicate my low opinion of you by derailing a thread about finding work with bullshit.
