I see there's two other threads about anxiety in the catalog but they seem a bit extreme.
I just get panic attacks every now and then when I'm in a crowded place.

Earlier today I was going to go to a networking event. About 200 meters before reaching the entrance I quite literally started running away and hiding in the forest. I don't need to explain why I can't afford this to be a regular occurrence.

Googling the issue gives me "managing techniques" like limiting caffeine or breathing slowly but that feels like telling an AIDS patient to eat an apple or a cancer patient to stop drinking beer. I'm looking for advice by someone who feels like they have actually solved their anxiety problem and are not just "managing" it.
I'm a university student and I'm feeling like an underlying current of anxiety is part of the experience but I also feel like I must be missing some fundamental wisdom about how to not be scared to death.

Read the first chapter of "hope and help for your nerves"

lmao imagine thinking you can just "solve" anxiety
From what I can tell the only real answer for that is an intentional heroin overdose suicide.
Unfortunately it's something you do have to manage, probably forever.
A proven solution is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Unfortunately I haven't been able to make much use of this, it depends entirely on forming intentional good habits which is something that I have honestly been incapable of doing my entire life. I haven't had money or time to talk to my therapist more about this so idk.

My own anxiety manifests in acute hypochondria and I've had literal fear of death panic attacks several times the past two years since it started. It's mainly fueled by real symptoms from chronic conditions I have but they are similar to more life threatening ones.

The breathing slowly thing works better than you think but it is only for in the moment in an anxiety attack to try to break out of it. Obviously you want to avoid having them in the first place.

There are definitely little things that work though. Caffeine is actually a huge one. Caffeine dependency is fake and gay anyway, I cut it out completely and it's useless and I feel way better and way less anxious. You're on 4chan so this is probably going to be a tough one but YOU NEED SLEEP. Seriously undersleeping is the biggest thing I've changed and made the biggest improvement. When I was your age I got used to not sleeping enough if you are living like that then in your 30s you will only make things worse.

unironically medication, there is pretty benign stuff you can take. First they had me try SSRI but my body had bad reactions to this. After that I started on 5mg buspirone twice a day and it was slightly better and then I started on 3 a day and it's honestly been really effective. I'll get my usual things that cause anxiety attacks but I'll be able to get through it without one in a couple minutes especially when I take action to mitigate them.

Thanks. Currently reading Carnegie's How to Win Friends, I should finish that one too, I feel like it helps with the social anxiety.

>Unfortunately it's something you do have to manage, probably forever.
This was the answer I feared
>Caffeine is actually a huge one
This was the answer I feared even more
>CBT and medication
I'm too anxious / lazy (also too proud) to really try those.
Yeah. Well. Shit. I really hate managing caffeine intake because I feel like it really helps me get out of bed when the alarm goes off. But the truth is I probably had too much of it today.

caffeine is a garbage drug. I know it's hard when you are in university but just getting better sleep is better. Unironically it probably has very little benefit for you at your current intake aside from curbing the withdrawal. ditching it will also have other health benefits like better blood pressure and shit.
I'm with you on the CBT like I said it probably won't ever work for me.

Realistically you are going to have to talk to somebody and try some things. Medication isn't so bad really your doctor will probably start with lighter stuff.

Start helping others and you might lose your anxiety. Does not matter who or how you help. They can be in person or anonymous online. Terra's transition into 4th density is pushing unpolarized (not good or bad) into polarizing. This is causing madness in the unpolarized.

The ironic thing is that the more overcaffeinated I am the more I doubt my ability to break out of the caffeine cycle. Thankfully the weekend is about to begin. And thanks again for your input

This is actually a fun and concrete piece of advice. I haven't posted on this board in a long time

Just remember not to do anything lewd lest you condition your brain to associate these artworks with arousal
