politics tore me and my bro apart. we've been through a lot of shit together and we've been the best man at each other's weddings. we used to banter and say 'faggot haha tranny' all the time to each other one-on-one, but over time I came to know an FtM and i've felt awful about all the transphobic stuff i've said in the past. my buddy and i talked about politics often, i'd always share crazy tweets and was like 'lol dude they banned trans people from bathrooms in X state this country is going under, these conservatives want these shooters to be trans so bad' and he just replies 'since when did you care so much about trannies' and i lost it. i told him that it's time to grow up from that shit and he just said 'jesus you're one of those now? fuck off then' and we haven't spoken in months. what do? apart from my wife i don't have many friends left in my life.

I can have my views on trans, while being sympathetic to them too. They're being blasted on national news as groomers and evil people when all that trannies really have done by and large is adopt a persona they feel comfortable with. As someone who hates my paternal family, I've got plans to change my name, because being named after my dad upsets me a little. That's just...choosing my identity. Maybe trans is more extreme but outside of the few who do try to groom or abuse children, I'd rather just live and let live.I wish I had answers anon, I really do. I only have one friend myself.
