My girlfriend is begging me to marry her and I want to but I am afraid. I am in my 30s every 3rd guy I know is divorced and was burned badly in it. I watched divorce destroy my father and my mother.

I am able to pull off a fake marriage. Everyone will think it is real but in fact it will not be legally binding, the issue becomes what if she discovers this. What if she is doing her taxes and she tells her accountant she is married and the account says no you arent. I think it is more likely the accountant will file it and eventually, it may take years, the tax guys will come after us for fraud and either way I am fucked.

I am not getting married I have worked too hard and people change. I may fall out of love and she may too. Im backed into a corner by her and family I dont want a legally binding marriage. If she loves me when this comes out, what happens? What would you do if you found out your beautiful wedding wasnt legally binding?
>>
>>33725793
Yeah I’d leave you if I found out you fake married me. Just tell her you don’t believe in marriage. Why is that so hard?
>>
>>33725793
Get married and contractually stipulate how your income/savings will be regulated in the event of a divorce
>>
Break up with her if you don't want to get married. You've been pretending to be a man who's able to marry.
>>
>>33725793
Break up with her you gay faggot
>>
>>33725810
I have she doesn't care.

>>33725815
We can do this? I have been told multiple times that a prenup is worthless once you have children. Do you mean I can contact a legal practice and have them alter the standard marriage contract as to include a divorce clause or something?

>>33725823
In my age group we sre more likely to be divorced in 20 years than be together. It's just math.
>>
>>33725839
I'm a gay faggot because I dont want the house I spent 4 years renovating, in the beginning living in a tent out the back because it was unlivable ever sold. Yeah alright. We are more likely to be divorced than to be together in 20 years.
>>
>>33725849
>have been told multiple times that a prenup is worthless once you have children
I‘m no legal expert, but I‘d advise doing some research and making an appointment for a consultation. The one thing prenups can‘t do would be to dictacte custody or child support. Everything else should be customizable to your personal preferences. Get an attorney experienced in family law to draft it.
>>
>>33725865
Also, don‘t do some looney tunes shit like the fake marriage idea. Better not get married at all than pull something like this, you never know how it‘d get treated in court.

You are gay. You got a house for your single mother to die in.
>>
>>33725793
>work hard
>people change
Well you already know the ingredients. People get divorced because they forgot that marriage means long term no matter what commitment. It’s public stupidity on purpose. If you get divorced, everyone knows your a fool, so you don’t.

>What if she is doing her taxes and she tells her accountant she is married

And that is your plan's fatal flaw: In most jurisdictions, presenting yourself as married is all that's required for a common-law marriage.

Don't be such a pussy. Get a prenup or break up.
>>
>>33725793
>Everyone will think it is real
So instead of a legally binding civil or religious marriage you want a legally binding common law marriage? Not really seeing the upside here.
>>
>>33725849
If she has children then you're utterly fucked whether you're married or not.
>>
>>33725793
You’re too immature just tell her no. You can’t commit and you basically have poor loyalty skill. You have to dive in and fully commit to someone and will make her very wet. If there was a spark when you first met it can always be rekindled. Marriages fail because of lack of sex.
>old fag married 15 years.
>>
>>33727385
This anon knows what's what.
>old fag married 29 years

>I am able to pull off a fake marriage. Everyone will think it is real but in fact it will not be legally binding, the issue becomes what if she discovers this.

My suggestion would be to do taht , but wit huher in the know. You can have a big party, bridesmaids, bridal dress yadda yadda whatever she wants. Depending on whcih country you are in, you can also get a priest to marry you and it won't be legally binding.

If she keeps pushing and insisting, I would start to seriously question why she needs to be in a position to divorce rape you at will so badly. Some very minor tax advantages and the off expedited bureasucratic process aside, there are zero practical advantages to being legally marries while putting all risk on you as the man.
At this point, her motives seriously need to be called into question.
>>33725823
>You've been pretending to be a man who's able to marry.
Unless OP has been openly lying to her, that is not the case. Marriage is becoming increasingly uncommon as it no longer has a tangible purpose besides conservative sentimentality.
>>
>>33727385
>Marriages fail because of lack of sex.
>old fag married 15 years.

Too much sex sounds boring too? People jump ship because they want different eventually like a different partner.

Counter my argument.
>>
I think you just cut if off and find someone you align with more with regards to (not wanting) marriage.
If you try for a 'fake marriage', the longer it goes the more legal hurt you will receive once discovered, and like with all lies there's always a slip up that causes suspicion before the blow out.
I don't know why you bothered stringing someone that is not walking the same path as you. You really have to iron out why you want to be in a relationship in the first place, specially given your personal experiences with divorced friends + your parents + divorce rape fears.

I swear most guys are better off in a temporary sugar daddy situation, where for 1 or 2 months every year you get your emotional and sexual rocks off and then move on to your purpose without distractions.
>>
>>33725793
get married in another country or by some kind of whack job non recognized religious ceremony
>>
>>33725793
>the tax guys will come after us for fraud
Mystified how they would do that. I realize this is a LLM generated slide thread but the LLM is not even trying. Anyone who's ever paid taxes would know this.
Yes I know in theory in some paranoid daydream they could send agents to my house demanding to see my marriage license... but IRL ... I suspect thats never happened.
>>
>>33727820
>zero practical advantages
a) your children wont be literal bastards
b) your children will have at least some bare minumum of status
c) normally it is a factor for preventing divorces; bureaucratic stuff as you mentioned
d) you spare your children from early trauma if you are married and stay together and they arent bastards

>What would you do if you found out
make an appointment at the register office together and correct the status to married. (this takes like 20$ and 10mins)
gamble and tell the tax authority oopsy daisy/or file for bankcruptcy IF it ever happens.
>>33727385
this sounds like truth.
>spark
what exactly do you mean by that? do you mean when locking eyes that my heart fucking drops to the floor, my throat dry and an erection is already present? this happens very very rarely to me anymore unfortunatly
my mind cant compute what that spark means
sorry

don't fall for it anon.
just stall and pretend you're undecided while you're looking for your next woman.

choose a younger one who won't break your balls with marriage.
--> careful not to get your current gf pregnant.

I wanna marry so badly!
>>
>>33725793
That's the whole beauty of marriage tho. Making it work when times are hard or when you don't really feel like it or want to. Find someone who's gonna be worth all that pain should it come that. Or get a prenup. If not what are you living life for? To be lonely, scared of marriage and scared to commit to someone? What kind of life is that?

Why are people so scared of taking a risk? So scared of heartbrake? So scared of being hurt emotionally? You're wimps, which is why life is so bland and tasteless. Take a fuckin dive dude.

Make a mess, live a little. That's what you're here for. Not to be perfect and scared of everything.

>you don't really feel like it or want to.
So staying together with someone despite not wanting to...is a good thing? explains a lot of those Boomer "Ball and Chain" jokes, aths for sure.
>someone who's gonna be worth all that pain
Sounds like an acute case of Simpitis. A partner is there to enrich your life, not cause pain. If that happens, a breakup is in order.
>So scared of being hurt emotionally?
I donnu, but gettign raped out of half my possesions + Alimony whenever the mood takes her Ladyship hurts in a lot more ways than just emotionally.
>You didn't come here to be some scared fagboy that's scared of marriage.
Yeah being sceptical of entering into a dodgy legal contract that literally only has downsides and offers zero upsides while fulfilling no tangible purpose at all besides conservacuk sentimentaility.
>Y.You're just scared of buying that Brooklyn bridge
Faggot. Marriage is scam at best.
>live a little
All those boomer marriages in my parents generation are pretty much the opposite of "living". I've rarely witnessed anything more lifeless and internally dead than the average married couple who got married to be married.
It ultimately an obsolete rite form a bygone time, there is no reaosn for anyone to marry.
You can just be together for life with someone without involving state authorities and courts while making lawyers rich. It is no problem at all.

not op
splendid.
except, you know, im here to literally be/reach perfection or near perfection so i can go back and never come down here to be forced to enjoy entropy. narcissistic and arrogant, if you may want to call me that.
>Make a mess
thats ignoble and not worthy of my and your time
>Why are people so scared of taking a risk? So scared of heartbrake?
because tptb funnel the unverifiable beliefsystem that you only live once and youve got to be the very best and get the best and you are all worth the best. plus FOMO.
plus health declines after about 45. so youve got what, 20 years to find your complementary other one?
plus people dont want or dont realise that marriage is working/struggle together, growing together, having harmony and alchemy, together. women or men bail from the first small conlfict already
PLUS on top of that there are biological constraints like, hormones and receptors; pair bonding. thers only one first time. one first kiss, one first hug, one first sex ect.
people literally lose their magic after the first one (if they had any leftover from lets say, atlantean times)
why else do you feel are the people so miserable all the time nowadays?
no energy, no magic(k), no man(n)a, no wonders happening anymore
you wouldnt get any of that anyway, probably.
but i see your point, you are not wrong.

He isn't scared of that bullshit. He is scared of getting fucked economically, which is very very real. He should just get a lawyer and ask away, then afterwards ask her or backwards.
