so for context i'm a cs major senior and i go to a state school somewhat near me. cs job market sucks and i've only had internships which barely pay with like 0 return offers.

i've tried all the stupid cs hiring advice. improve your resume, acquire more exp, apply locally, apply everywhere, get referrals

honestly even if i do get interviews idk i can even pass em. i can barely do leetcode, if you gave me a technical interview rn i'd fail.

my parents have been awful to me. a few months ago they forced me to commute every day and i've been taking so many credits (and doing extra unpaid stuff) it's been hard to keep up. i'm literally starting to ngaf about my assignments and coursework anymore, like not staying on top of things. and then every night they yell at me or each other. it's fucking tarded and idek i can even pull through.

once i get my degree it'll be useless i think. i just want to get away from my parents and with the way things are going i doubt it'll ever be possible.

You have a means of income and a team with your parents but you’d rather be all grown and wasting effort to buy toilet paper and keep the lights on. That’s dumb. If you do not like your parents. Take more advantage of them until you are truly independent.

I'm sick of all of these foreigners going into CS for the money desu. White people will autistically obsess over some random thing and then dedicate their lives to it. All of the fun is gone.

Honestly Anon, at this point just make your own app/program. Become self-employed and use that momentum while you live with your parents to not pay rent, food, electricity, etc.

Usajobs.gov search for computer scientist or IT roles. Only US citizens are allowed to apply so no Pajeets to compete against. Starting pay is low, but you'll catch up to private sector peers in your age bracket when you get to GS 12, 13. Plus you get a pension

If I don't have a job by graduation should I kms

Ok well first things first, stop fucking panicking. And stop feeling like if you don't graduate college with all A's that you're gonna end up working at McDonald's with a bunch of 15-year-olds lol. I mean it's not funny but it's hilarious to see how you people absolutely die-hard fear working a minimum wage job. Like you guys fear that more than literal war. That's never gonna happen, unless of course you want it to, that's another story. Any job or career you have even if you dropped out today is gonna be in the computer/science field. This could be a sign to start your own company. You never know. It sounds like you need to move out. Maybe that's your problem, then if school still doesn't pick up then Quit. Stop forcing yourselves to do shit you don't wanna do. Maybe that's my problem. Cause I've never forced myself to do anything I didn't wanna do, not a job, not a class, not a task, not anything. When I was in high school I'd literally walk out of the school when I had to take classes I didn't understand or didn't like. Don't force yourself to be miserable all for a sense of financial security. It's not worth it. No one's financially stable idc how much money you have.

No the hell you're not. Stop talking like that. It's not that deep.

the average “cs major” has no interest in coding and is just a lazy masturbation and/or video game addict who thinks because he’s “nerdy” he can do the bare minimum to graduate and get a good job while retaining almost nothing from any of his classes
I know because this was literally me. I imagine it’s even worse these days with AI
