>Be neet for almost 10 years
>Apply part time to Target so I can have the rest of the day to myself gaming
>After my first week, get 2 weeks off for some reason
>Come back on third week and working 28 hours that week
>Change my desires hours to 20 hours a week
>Weeks are 20 hours but 5 hours every day
>I go in and leave work at completely random times
>Only 2 weeks where I'm given 2 days off in a row instead of 1 day off
>Try to change my schedule so I can work 9 AM to 1 PM
>Denied first time
>Try again but have Monday and Tuesday off
>Will likely be denied again
First ever job and it's a pain in my ass to keep up with this schedule. I just want a consistent schedule, I have no time for hobbies anymore.

In my very little experience (so take this with a grain of salt), when you don't feel good in a job, it's usually best to go with what your guts tell you.
Just don't be dumb to quit your job and going back to be a neet. Start applying and job hunting right now, and quit your job when you have something in queue.
>>
yes, growing up is inconvenient. if you're gonna be there for 5 days anyway, you might as well try to be full time to maximize your salary and work on your social skills. you'll get used to the consistency of being full time
>>
that's normal for retail jobs, get used to it

Frankly, your job sucks and your deduction in pay isn't getting you anything as you still have to work every day.
Since I presume we are talking unqualified minimum wage jobslop here, you can quit and apply to something else, turnover rate is so high in those places it doesn't really matetr anyways.
I'd recommend looking at jobs in hospitality. The conditions suck, but depending on where you are you can have fun colleagues and improve your social skills a lot. Also tips can easily pay like an additional shift or two would depending on where and as what you work. I do recommend trying whether its for you, as we are talking about the kind of jobs that can be swtiched out at the drop of a hat you are very free to explore.

>maximize your minumum wage goy
>waste all your time at a dead end retail job goy
>You will eventually like being an unthinking worker drone once you have killed your soul

Yeah no. I neevr felt better after reducing to 25hand a three day week from so called "full time". It has improved my life by magnitudes in nearly every aspect - and I have an actu7ally qualified office job with career prospects, not min wage garbage. OP: Do NOT listen to this poster.

The overhead of hiring and retaining an employee is rarely worth it if they only work 4 hours a day.
>>

No you are right your job sucks. Go job hunting.
I stayed in a job I hated for years and I kept thinking "I should quit" but I never did. I put a fuckton of effort into the company, but then when the bosses felt like it I got stabbed in the back at the first opportunity anyway.

When it comes to jobs you need to be selfish. Don't fall for the "we are a family here" nonsense.

A consistent schedule is a sign of good management. With enough coverage and overlap to handle the unforeseen in a cost effective way. You are being treated poorly from lack of management and there is no justification for it. They’d want you there whenever they need so they should accommodate you as a grown human. You should explain to them that’s why you are thinking of quitting. They should know what their issues are.

>You should explain to them that’s why you are thinking of quitting
Fuck em', can just quit without talking to anybody on the app.
>>
>>33731548
>You should explain to them that’s why you are thinking of quitting.

Its not OPs job to help them fix themselves by giving feedback. They will have a nightmarish turnover even for a crap job like this due to their incompetence, and if they can't figure it out for themselves its not OPs problem.
Just don't show up to the next shift and block their phone number, problem solved.

Don't do this! You should always do exemplary work so your employer can't discredit you in a performance review or potential lawsuit.

If you want to quit, just quit.
Don't do this "soft quitting" shit. If your contract states that you have to keep working for a grace period after handing in your resignation, then you should also still do exemplary work during that period. Word gets around.

>can't discredit you in a performance review or potential lawsuit.
>implying min wagies give a fuck about that

I agree formally quitting is probably better to cover your bases and not open yourself up to legal recourse, but there is really no pathway for an employer to discredit you.
>Word gets around.
It literally doesn't unless you're living in some rural shithole and working for some owner operated business. The kind of fuckhuge coporation that generally offers min wage jobs will just blacklist your name internally and then forget that you exists. You are not dealing with humans, but a mostly automated bureaucracy. there is no "word" that could get around.

Hell no. I don't know how old you are, but you obviously don't NEED the money, so you should use this to learn how to be responsible and grit through shit. Im not saying this just because you wanna quit, more because its only been a month and all you're thinking about is how to make it easier for yourself to be able to game for as long as possible. Where the fuck are your priorites dude. You can't sacrifice 5 hours a day to have some money in your pocket?

Its never gonna be easy, no matter the job. You need to learn to compartmentalize shit.

If you quit, at least be LOOKING for another job first or some other income source. Fuckin lazy ass bitch. I guarantee you with your current mindset you'll be on here in 5 years saying "Where did it all go wrong? What's wrong with me? why didn't girls ever talk to me?".
>>
>>33734735
>Its never gonna be easy, no matter the job.

On one hand you're not entirely wrong. On the other, minimum wage retail work is really one of the most pointless and shittiest things you could do.
>with your current mindset you'll be on here in 5 years saying "Where did it all go wrong?

And thats gonna be different with a dead end min wage retail job which will leave him exactle where he is now because there is a flat zero chance fo rany advancement whatsoever? Gtfo of here with this boomer bootstrap bullshit.

If we were talking about getting an ducation or an entry level job that has potential to climb some sort of carreer ladder it would be different, but minimum waging is a completely useless waste of time unless you badly need the money.

>I have no time for hobbies anymore.
Your whole life has been hobbies, OP. You spent 10 years doing nothing but hobbies. What you're describing is like the easiest, most low mind and energy requirements for a job but you're still struggling. Consider the possibility that avoiding hard work and inconvenience is what has gotten you into this position in the first place. Find another job if you want but, seriously, get your shit together. Its not normal for a person your age to struggle this much with this little work.
>>
>>33734796
1.I was mostly being tongue in cheek.
2.I'll give it to you, I didn't consider that america is fucking criminal with retail wages. My bad there.
3. I get the feeling OP might be 17-18, in which case it's whatever, none of this advice matters.

I did say that they should be looking for another job before quitting. But that squirmy "oh I cant work 5 hours a day because I want to game so bad" is troubling to me.

I doubt the job is costing them money. So overall they're in a positive position, yes? Of course I don't really know OP's circumstances, but I agree that they should either go for education, or look for some other part time work till they get their head screwed on. Just don't prioritise fucking gaming, please
