I'm a young man, and I outwardly profess to others that I'm a Catholic, but inwardly I feel like a failure. I can't bring myself to start the habits of a prayer life, weekly mass and confession, and I am also stuck in my own problems of stress eating and porn. I want to grow better, but I can't seem to do it myself, does anyone know how to help me?
>>33735412Why can't you start the habits? Just start small and build from there, you can do 3 "Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me" when you wake up and before you go to bed. Confession is even easier you only have to do it like once a year, write a list and make an appointment with your priest. What helped me was realizing that I was being watched by God all the time and that doing stuff like watching porn is just plain gross and embarrassing, and over eating will never get me a nice bf.
prayer is based one of Napoleon Hill's foundational notions is that prayer is critically underutilized and merits great study and practice everyone knows prayer works instinctually which is why basically every religion has prayer and even the seculars have manifestation you should start there imo and not even worry about the rest of your post because it will fall into line once you practice prayer

Cut off all contact with sinful and indolent addictions you may have, from porn to games to the internet, and start going outside and reconnecting with the world. Once your dopamine has been reset and you're clear of all preexisting unhealthy habits, you will start making healthy habits far more easily as long as you interact with virtuous media and content like classical books and Catholic groups.

Your religion is telling you that natural human instincts and human activities like sex is wrong which is why that unchanneled energy keeps manifesting into you watching porn. Think about it, do you wanna waste your whole life in a mental prison trying to live up to an impossible standard to please something that doesn't even exist? Or that can't even be proven to exist? Understand this, you'll never be good enough for the Abrahamic god. You'll always be a failure in the eyes of your religion someway, somehow. So don't waste your life away on it. Cause it's obviously not working for you. Your guides may be guiding you into a spiritual awakening. How bad do they have to make things before you give in? What's it gonna take for you to realize its bullshit? How many lifetimes do you have to come down to earth playing the role of a christcuck before you attain enlightenment and break out of it?
