Does anyone else get this feeling like if in a social situation if someone doesn't say hi or acknowledge you first you feel uncomfortable until they do? And are unwilling to approach them first unless you're really comfortable with them?I guess it's a part of my brain fearing that because they haven't shown me any friendliness (yet, this time, even if they have many times in the past) then I imagine that they don't like me now or I have annoyed them somehow or they are in a bad mood so I become avoidant.

I think active practicing social skills help, like you will go out and make eye contact with random people, say hi to random people, make small talk, etc. But do it in a focused putting in effort way
>>33741216I also read this article about how group therapy with other avpd people helped. That is hard to come by though
