I don't know if I want to chase status at all. I have never been into it. Maybe I should have been. I am a game developer and as egotistical as it is I know I will be successful. I am just wondering whether or not I should release my video game anonymously, or have it attached to my name and face. Thoughts?
>>33746382You should attach your name to anything you are proud about, and are sure you will be proud about in several years (that clause refers to furry fart fetish vore porn games). Most people also over estimate their own skills and value.
>>33746400Why is this the case? Does it lead to better treatment? Feels better? I seriously have no clue how I'd feel about it
>>33746442In particular in creative jobs, your worth depends on your project portfolio, which is why it's in your interest to maintain one. It directly translates to how much money you can ask for when applying for a new job, it also decides what you even get considered for. And maybe you even want to flex a bit when surrounded by people that understand what you're talking about because the more street credibility you're bringing to the table, the more willing people will be to listen to you. That will help you every single time when you have to argue against someone with an opposing opinion. It will also help you get girls, as girls understand dedication to a project, and the most visible result to a normie girl is your name next to a completed project. And maybe it also feels good to be able to tell people that you did something cool and admirable.
>>33746442>>33746457Follow up: In case that wasn't clear: It's much easier to add something to your portfolio, if it has your name attached to it, that's why I kept talking about the portfolio.
i have played a lot of video games and not once have i thought "i care and wonder about what the developer looks like" and actually like half of the game's i've bought were hentai games so like why do i need to know the nigga in charge i'm here for the PLOT AND BACKSTORYyou should do like Z0NE and use a mascot
>>33746474/not OPWith porn and other saucy content it's often a good idea to use a pseudonym or mascot, but in most cases it's at least a good thing for that next job or project.
>>33746457This sounds like aiming for failure if I care about some "job". And I don't see how or any instance of an independent game developer collaborating on anything more than some video interview. Seems like a really moot point
>>33746522See it as a safety net. If you never need that street credibility that's good for you, just most people eventually have to get a basic bitch job, and when or if that maybe happens you might as well be prepared to provide arguments to deserve something better than super market shelf stacker job. You're free not to have a backup plan.
