She definitely was especially toxic and this was an extreme example, but I've had experience with other Asian women and in general because they consider family so important, family must come first, and that means minimizing anyone who isn't family (such as friends). For all the shit we talk about Western women, their independence can be a good thing in some ways, as they tend to not latch onto you and make you their entire world the same way women from Asian cultures do.
