Learning about narrative writing has literally transformed me from being an idiot to being an intellectual thinker. I'm talking about reading books on writing, storytelling and psychology etc. Learning to write characters and scenes forces you to look at life through an analytical lense and break down everyday moments in life and gain Insights from them. It also builds your cognitive empathy. Which makes it easier for you to understand different perspectives and be able to predict things about peoples behavior and mindset through deductive reasoning. Read books about learning how to write.

Physics: General Methods for Solving Physics Problems by B. S. Belikov. Other similarly-titled books tend to be collection of problems and solutions. Which don't get me wrong, effective. But this one or Feynman's Tips is more like a guide.

Writing: A Swim in a Pond in the Rain by George Saunders

Photography: The Photographer's Eye by Michael Freeman

Art: Alla Prima II by Richard Schmid

Well, obviously reading about theory can only do so much.

You can think good already just give yourself a chance to think.
>if you drive turn off the music in your car
>if public transport put away your music
>no electronics while eating
>no electronics in the shitter
>when you go outside leave electronics in pockets or at home if you have the opportunity
You want silent times in your day to think and the busier you are the harder it is to find these times.
Anon >>33760198 is correct. Thinking is developed and honed. Go on MIT OpenCourseWare if you want something more educational or stop by /lit/ for reading suggestions.
