I'm renting a little house and heard scratching in the walls, we caught 1 mouse last month and it went away but yhe scratching came back last night. Landlord knows, did some renos to close up any gaps but we got another regardless of what they did. I'm going to go around and do a better job because I can't trust them to hold up their end of the bargain.I keep a pretty clean home, store my food security and avoid laundry piles, I have traps in places I think they could be and have poison bait as well. Admittedly I need to mowy lawn, but it's been super wet lately.What else could I do to be rid of mice?

>>33768596I live on a farm. Have old farm house. I get mice. Not unmanageable amounts, but enough that I don't fuck around. I go nuclear on their asses.1) Get peanut butter - This is your mouse bait, do not ever eat from this container again. Get a second one for your food pantry. This one is 100% to murder mice. Do not mix or use good utensils to bait traps.2) Get wooden based mice snap traps from dollar store. You get 2 in a pack so buy at minimum 10. Proceed to bait all traps in step 3. Put in strategic locations like kitchen, where droppings have been, etc.3) Get plastic throw away utensils from dollar store. You will use these to put a very SMALL amount of peanut butter on the snap trap "fake cheese area". Load trap and carefully position the trap release lever on the strongest side of the catch area. Notice there are a weak side and a strong side. It says it right on the trap. Use the strong side or you'll be setting the damn trap all the time. 4) Position the trap 90 degrees (like a T) to the wall with the snap trap AGAINST/INTO the wall side. The remainder of the trap will point outwards like the letter T as mentioned. Mice use their whiskers and smell to navigate in the dark. They can't see the trap. They will stick their head into the trap and trigger it. It will snap over their heads and suffocate them instantly. This is by far the most humane way to KILL mice. They're not your friends, not your pets. They carry disease and can kill you with their shit droppings. Look up hantavirus. This virus just killed some Hollywood celebrities. It's why you must clean up mice droppings immediately using a wet paper towel. Do not breathe in the dust or particles for you could inhale the virus and fucking die too. It's not a fun way to go...5) Remove the mouse carcass using disposable gloves and throw away gloves after getting rid of the mouse body. Do not use your garbage in the house...get that shit out of your house stat.

Oh and the only other ways to kill mice are via a professional exterminator = $$$, cute fuzzy cat (but they you shouldn't use snap traps because they can injure their paws and otherwise will fuck up your cat), glue traps or poison. These last methods can also injure your cat or outright kill them too. That's pretty much it...I have managed to kill a mouse by hand using a flashlight but it was rare to catch it off guard. They're fast as you most likely won't ever be able to catch one like I did. It was a fluke.
