Germany is way too cheap compared to other europian countries for college tuition. (10k euro a years)

Nederlands on the other end is extremely expensive, housing crisis but may have a stronger job market for electrical engineerings (ASML, NXP)
Also a lot of courses are offered in English which is a bit more helpful.

Both the countries require a minimum of 5 years for citizenship application.

Europe is not the same in the sense that things are incredibly different from country to country to the point of being unrecognizable once you cross a border, even if it took you a 20 minute drive to cross it. Second, European union didn't make it harder to immigrate. You are completely wrong. It was always hard. The union actually made it easier for everyone, especially for refugees.
