how should you act as an aspiring buddhist when you're a wage slave? How to keep sane if you spend the majority of your time slaving away. I try to not indulge in sensual pleasures and its doable but every evening I dread the next working day and want to blow my brains out. Or is the whole aim to become a monk and leave the hellish techno industrial society?
>>33776894You're also a slave for following some religion. Let alone one originating from ancient India of all places.
Being a buddist doesn't mean trying to escape samsara. It's just one path available to you. If you are one trying to seek enlightenment, then you should certainly become a monk. Otherwise you live normally on the karma grind. And I have to keep explaining this to people but good karma DOES NOT equal enlightenment.
>>33776894quit trying to follow buddha, it's like christ, you will never get it. Look at the flowers for a sec, even if they are born with shit and mud around them they are still flowers, still pretty. They will die, surely. But somewhere another flower will blossom, maybe in a beautiful garden, maybe with more shit and mud, flowers will be flowers.
