my girlfriend hid her pregnancy until six months because she was terrified of her dad. he is an elder at a small church and controls the family through fear and guilt. when he found out, he called her a whore, made her move out, and said he did not want to know where she was living so he could keep his mind clear.he calls the situation a nightmare but only talks about how it affects him and his image in the church. what worries me most is how normal this all seems to her. it feels like she has learned not to feel it anymore. everything in that family looks like faith on the surface, but underneath it is control.

forgot to add subject matter in our discussion also included a lot of terms of sin, why it's evil, using entirely negative language, doesn't day 3 and i have not heard him say more than 1 word mentioning the countless positive terms talked about in the bible
