Hello all. How do you cope with the IQpill?I wanted to be a scientist but it turns out my competence in abstract thinking, my general memory and my raw fluid intelligence are too low to perform when necessary. Pretty soulcrushing no matter how I try to rationalize it. How do you stay positive in these situations? I really hate what I am doing in life but it feels like the things I want/am interested are largely off limits. This whole "just work harder" thing has a hard limit for some folks and I just got unlucky in that the things I find cool and fun are just not built for men that have bad genetics.
>>33779686Surely there is some type of scientist you can be, right? Cause I've meet some not that smart scientists
>>33779691Unfortunately when I was tested for ADHD my results came back and my memory related intelligence and a couple other areas put me near the first percentile or just a few % above that. I actually study engineering atm but forgot to change the "scientist" to just generally "study STEM". My brain legitimately does not function properly, I feel unironically disabled and have very little control over what little cognitive function I have. I see the term "brain fog" described online often - the descriptions usually associated with that phrase generally are how my mind works 24/7 for as long as I can remember, with extremely rare moments of lucidity (if the situation in reference also demands little of me cognitively; basic algebra, addition, simple logic arguments etc). You're right that there are jobs in science which don't involve intense intellectual skill but I frankly doubt I could even perform these roles - getting a bachelors related to such tasks would likely still limit me from attaining that atm.
>>33779686>subhuman moron who can write correct englishYou would be suited to journalism.
>>33779711Dude, you aren't even dumb, you have ADHD. A large gap between memory and non-memory based IQ is literally how they diagnose the disorder.Just get some medication, it will help you a lot. This problem is much easier to solve than being legitimately low IQ
>>33779686Very very few people who did STEM degree manage to be a scientist. Even with enough IQ/aptitude/talent/effort. 1 prof supervises many phds and postdocs, but only 1 position is open when the prof retires or dies. Most people don’t get what they want in academia, and in life in general.
>>33779686iodine sufficiency adds 10 iq points
>>33779686Do sumpn else
>>33779686How's your diet? Diet and exercise play a big role in brain function. When I cut out all junk food and started training mma, I noticed a big difference in my cognitive function and abilities
>>33779686So you don't want to do it because it might be hard.
>>33779686Being a scientist is dumb job. You get overeducated and hang around ugly boring nerds for shit pay. Go into business, finance, trades, anasthesia, nursing, plumbing, a real job that's always in demand.
>>33780629Dramatically improved from what it was. Sadly the cognitive issues only slightly relented and my diet/general health are thankfully quite good. I went into a bit of a supplement rabithole for cognitive issues as well, they (as far as I can tell) did nothing observable. I feel much better though, and lifting is enjoyable so I'd still reccomend it.>>33780838Im actually currently "doing it" and am failing miserably.
