>be me>have some kind of tic that causes me to have no control of my facial expressions or laugh/cry spontaneously.>starts watching gore and shocking material to desensitize myself and have less erratic twitches>think of the violent graphic/cruel material to guilt trip my brain and get a hold of it momentarily.>problem solved?
>>33805752I hope you haven't actually tried this yet because that is a retarded solution. Generally you want your psyche to be as orderly as possible, introducing more entropy will just destabilise your psyche more.
That sounds genuinely retarded. Go see a doctor, psychologist or some sort of therapist. Desensitizing yourself would not help since all it'll do is make shocking content less shocking and potentially having a negative impact on your overall mental health.
>>33809222I do not want to be medicated Anon, and therapists give me nothing but the same bullshit phrased different
>>33809278If you have psychological problems but refuse to get psychological help then you're probably not going to overcome your issues by yourself or otherwise you would have. If you have any objection against particular medications then there are usually alternatives with different side effects but don't give me the "all psychiatric medication is le bad" spiel. And besides why do you think the solution is medication? Have you actually gone to a proper psychologist and gotten a diagnosis?
>>33809314I have gotten diagnosed with PBA and Schizophrenia, yet I got evaluated some time ago, and I was still under the guardianship of my parents, who refused to agree with the medication referralEver since Ive switched therapists up and down yet there isnt much to do when its all the same conclusion, I know I have the independence to get a new referral and 'control' these 'tics' among other things, but I do not wish to be dependant to be a decent human being.
>>33809620I don't see the point of framing it as a dependency when it has nothing to do with being weaker for needing medication. It's really just a binary choice between do I want to take some pills to help manage these conditions so I can live a happier more productive life or do I want to not take them and just tough it out because that's better than needing meds to live. Schizophrenia can be especially debilitating if you don't get any treatment for it but it's also possible that you're lucky and your symptoms improved since your diagnosis. Either way I don't see why you shouldn't medicate yourself or at least get therapies that could help.
