Share your stories of retail hell to help others get through it.(Food workers welcome)I'll start to day we had to deal with aggressive scammer. All pressure techniques knowing we could not prove there obvious scam was anymore than a mistake. We could do no more than say "yes" and "this isn't a valid receipt". None the less we all know we will have to face upper management for "not helping a "customer"" It's retarded and we can be fired for asking someone to stop shitting in the water fountain./Adv/ go let's here your best stories.
>>33821050I worked at Office Max in 2019. I had a rabbi come in for office supplies when I was working register. I swear he asked me to adjust the price of every single item to the online catalogue, often there wasn't a difference. We also had a charity thing going on where the store would give a small donation to a needy school (this was in Seattle, so we encouraged choosing the elementary school on the Yakima reservation) and he refused even tho it didn't cost him a thing. Man was a living embodiment of Jewish stereotypes
>>33821115Most times we just see people asking about online prices it's no issue but sometimes it's other stores on close out prices or some manufactures discount. Our customers are great for the most part but with some it's hard to explain that other people are making sales at a loss for reasons I don't know, but my retailer is not I can't just magic wand a product down to production coast because someone else over stocked and now has to liquidate. I recommended they buy from the other merchant but they will bitch till we have three managers calling corporate for approval on the market down.
>>33821050I let an item worth $256 go for $20 because I was a dumbass due to a sales week. I tried asking for help over at the register but the lady left before anyone could come in time.
>>33821050>be me, like 7 years ago>bank teller>branch in the ghetto so no cash on the floor, we use a sort of ATM drop safe at the counter>friday 15 mins to close>man comes in>eyes glassy and bloodshot, mouth hanging open>telling some nonsense story about his life>clearly high, seems like meth>presents me the most obviously fake $100 I've ever seen>>has chinese lettering>sorry sir can't accept this, also can't give it back>says he got it from ebay>starts sperging that I can't give it back>has an adult temper with tantrum>>literally laying on the floor screaming and flailing about>inform him that we are now closed>after 10 mins or so of this tantrum he gets up and leaves, drives away lolNext day>same man comes into my branch in sunglasses and hat>hands me a stick up note>>no cash on the floor>offer him the ripped up $10 and handful of change I had that can't go in the ATM>>not even $20>surprised pikachu>take my entire drawer out and show him the lack of money>he leaves>gets caught the same day>prison for $20 in change
> work in food as a shift manager> Get customers who are arguing with staff.> Go break it up and walk away.> Starts back up.> Break it up again and walk away.> Fires up way worse a third time, fight is about to start.> Cant break it up so I have the cops called.> Guys finally leave.> Don't even tress pass them.> Get fired the next day because calling the cops was not our policy even if safety was a concern.
Imagine being so fucking poor you work in retail. I make 10 million per year just off tax returns.
