How do I stop suicidal thoughts based off of being behind in life and wasted potential?
stop being behind in life and make up for the wasted time
Why kill yourself?
>>33823866My brother in Christ I've applied to at least over 400 jobs in over the last year and a half and I've only gotten about 25 interviews, almost all of which never called me back for a second. It's fucking crazy out there right now. I'm almost 26, I want to move out and start my own life, this is fucking embarrassing
>>33823860mindfulness meditation. get an audio book on it.
Thinking about killing yourself is pointless. Just wait until you die and enjoy being miserable.
>>33823860I won't read calendar of doom threads. Stop ruminating and start now building a life.
>>33825264Thanks for the bump faggot
>>33829047If you are the op maybe you can take comfort that you don’t live on /adv/ making those “I will not read” troll posts on the daily.
>>33823860Idk, how do you stop intrusive attraction thoughts? Am interested in answer. If someone finds one, i want, nay, need to know.
Think about it more critically. What is death? What is life? Get philosophical lol.>>33823882If you NEED a job and don't already have one work retail or at a gas station. And when you find something better just disappear
>>33823860I'd at least volunteer as a resume builder and get outta the house , depending on your major I'd build some projects of passion that might take off - be it game , youtube channel, etc I would study economics as well on YT to realize that shit is way bigger than any one persons short comings if you didn't already know , so don't beat yourself up too hard , be kinder on yourself. Good friends and feeling included go a long way in warding off the stressors of our current times , if u can build that - do that.
>>33823860>How do I stop suicidal thoughts based off of being behind in life and wasted potential?Do something productive with your time.
>>33829126>work retail or at a gas stationI've gotten ghosted by any I applied to lol
>>33824385>enjoy being miserable.thisthere's is certain inner peace when you understand that you already lost and you don't need to give a fuck anymore, you can do whatever you want.

>"I'm behind in life, OH WAIT I KNOW! I'll just kill myself so I can be further behind in life!"retard moment
>>33829075CBT works. Look up “catch it, check it, change it”. You identify the bad thoughts when you’re having them, verify if they are valid, then change them into something more positive. For example, after two weeks of alcohol sobriety, you start having thoughts of going out to a bar strongly. You“catch” every time you think of alcohol, you “check” to see that it’s what you really want to (regress back to drinking), and then “change” your view on why you’re having these thoughts (“I just want to be social” rather than “I want a beer”
>>33829284Really? For retail? Damn dude, hopefully you're at least a high school grad?
>>33829465That's the funny thing: a lot of retail places now absolutely refuse to hire you if you have a college degree. Then if you lie about not having one, they wonder why you were magically not working during a 4 year stint or why all your jobs then were college jobs.
>>33829545God damn that is fucked up. I need to get out of america as soon as humanly fucking possible
>>33829465nta but retail jobs generally don't want people with degrees because they're obviously only there temporarily while looking for a better job. i've also got ghosted by interviewers too so I'm largely in the same spot as OP. >>33829545>4 yeara bachelor's degree only is a HUGE red flag for most employers too these days, it shows that you're an underachiever. it's honestly the worst of both worlds, you're too educated for a "normie" job but you're not educated enough for any field you actually want to work in
>>33829923>you're not educated enough for any field you actually want to work inI got duped into archaeology, where you're allowed to be a temp survey worker making decent pay but if you try to write a dry compliance report without a master's degree they think you're crazy.Meanwhile in the parallel field of natural resources survey you can be career and write reports with a bachelor's no problem. It makes no sense but cultural norms in industries are often an enigma.
>>33823860attempted suicide in the past for a similar reason and only went to the hospital because i realized while lying in a pool of blood that if you genuinely cower down and let life kill you youre a fucking pussy. impose yourself upon this world. retard.
>>33830084It's less about actually wanting to kill myself and more of, like other anons have mentioned, my college degrees and co-op experience are rendered useless due to enshittification and I can't get a fucking minimum wage job because of my education. It's comically ironic. I'm going well physically (go to the gym 3-4 times a week), and I frequently go outside for walks or stroll though bars and bookstores downtown, keeps me from actually wanting to end it all, but I've got a pit deep down in my stomach reminding me that this isn't solving any of my core issues (being almost 26 and still stagnant in my career, being a neet living at home, no gf). I went on a few dates this year and realized I'm more of a catch than I thought, but my status as a neet makes alot of women lose interest, I can't blame them really. I'm going to see if I can apply as a garbage man, fuck it, it's honest work, comes with a bit of a humiliating title but anythings better than being a neet for this long
>>33830456which country you in ? this sounds like canada
>>33830505Bingo
>>33830509i think is a big quiet problem in our country rn , life starting jobs are legit scarce now or its network based and don't diss garbage man like its a shoe-in , its a strong union gig to my knowledge and likely competitive lmfao If you're some techie type , these blue collar guys sniff you out like a shark with blood in the ocean and would reject you for that. Honest shoe-in work is usually construction but thats shits back breaking
>>33830583competitive in the sense that if you don't have a history of waste management / labouring - they prolly won't take you so you would to explore some adjacent positions first to look tempting at all. This is what I hate about employers - they hate pivoters so much , they want you as if you made a life choice around this profession at like 22.
>>33823860Don't waste your time on jealousy;sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long, and in the end,it's only with yourselfThe only measure you need for yourself is who you were yesterday.Be better than you were yesterday, that's it. That's literally it.It doesn't matter what arbitrary steps you missed or imaginary mile markers you're behind. It genuinely doesn't matter. Be better than you were yesterday. Take care of your problems as best you can today. And tomorrow you will take care of more.In short: Git GudI don't mean that as a dismissive insult. Quite the contrary, the phrase speaks to a truth at the heart of entire lives. It is, in fact, the very best advice anyone could ever give you.https://youtu.be/blSXTZ3Nihs?si=YCmbbbTrZ6lFB26U
>>33830791What if we're genetically inferior and incapable of gitting gud?
>>33831129Then instead of whatever threshold of Gud you feel that you can't possibly reach because you're "genetically inferior", just be better than you were yesterday, that's it. That's literally it.Pretending you can't ever do that is simply looking for an excuse not to try. Likely because it's easier and doesn't risk failing.
>>33823882Same
>>33830791That would be easier if I werent getting mogged every single day when around other people.
>>33832918Nobody else is living your life with your strengths, weaknesses, advantages, and disadvantages. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not them. They are not better at being you than you are.
>>33832994But it still hurts in a way that I missed things. Even getting it wouldnt make much of a difference. Getting outted for no reason.
>>33823860I cope by telling myself I did the best I could at the time with the opportunity and knowledge I had at the time. I'm in a good situation now, though there are times I resent not realizing what I had to do a decade sooner so I could be further ahead now. Again, though, I did the best I could at the time with the opportunity and knowledge available to me.Sometimes I still seethe, but realistically, what more could I have done?
>>33833017Yes, it hurts. If one cannot move forward despite experiencing pain, they will forever be trapped in the limited confines of the seed in which they're trapped.Or to put it another way: "Life is pain, princess. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something."Get busy living life.
>>33823860Same here, and I'm 29, so older than you. Fucking sucks. People I know have families while I am a NEET virgin.I'm finished.
>>33829999>archaeologyyou actually went and got the job that only kids fantasize about?
>>33834851I grew up in a very religious environment and my early 20s were spent by my mom constantly sending me pics of random young couples getting married in our community. But now most of said couples are already divorced. One guy I grew up with straight up killed himself after his divorce, he was fucking 24 and he threw himself off a building
>>33834565I guess I cant move forward due to seeing my future in the past. Thanks for trying.
