I have about $6,000 debt from a credit card. I did the math for how long it'd take to pay off with all my bills and mortgage, it'd be close to 2 years of minimum payments. Should I just stop paying or will they fuck me over?

Don't pay minimum payments or refinance it in some way, credit card interests are typically higher than typical loan interests.

You can pay more than the minimum, and pay it off more quickly with less {{{interest}}}.

How would I refinance? Call the company?

I will keep that in mind. Does above min payments count as principal (non-interest balance) similar to a mortgage?

Yes. Feel free to pay the whole thing off in one lump payment.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume the late fees will also build interest like crazy, right? Or does it depend with each company/credit types
