im one of those fake smart people in high school that you might remember , well I fucked up and didn't get anywhere in life. I've humbled myself on many many levels and I don't take pride in much of anything anymore-- im not actually smart , ive seen 19yo code circles around me , actually be able to remember languages after a term is over, and actual proper problem solving then simply programming or doing simple projects like building websites (which is a solved problem space for the most part) and usings docs etc etc. Math I haven't touched in a decade at this point and has totally atrophied , even doing basic multiplication with decimals and I gotta double check I carried it rightIt's clear that whatever notion I had of being a creative success with an app or a business was likely just wishful thinking. I want to ground myself now in a practical small life with some side hobbies I could succeed, what would you suggest? I was thinking of giving streaming a try or a youtube channel that just reviews movies or whatever while working as a janitor or become a comedian since that doesn't seem to take much IQ with what I see some of these clowns are putting out. Do you think im making the right call in butting out of intellectual pursuits entirely? Or should I still challenge my brain with creative projects with existing tools? It was a dream of mine to build a game engine or a game dev tool that was useful but perhaps its best I just use Godot or GameMaker like a pleb or why learn cybersecurity or things like that? I did that norway IQ test and only averaged 92 (at around midnight tho) or 110 was my absolute highest when I took it in the morning (these results were months aparts - I just remember them)
do it
>>33832230>I was thinking of giving streaming a try or a youtube channel that just reviews movies or whatever while working as a janitor or become a comedian So you realized you're mediocre and decided to keep on being mediocre. >since that doesn't seem to take much IQ with what I see some of these clowns are putting out.You also think like a mediocre person.Well, whatever, this is a science board. Take your shit to /adv/ or kys.
>>33832230Get a minimum wage job and save enough money to either invest it in your hobby or a trade.
I don’t think it’s really necessary to look at your IQ. Yeah you may see these people “code circles” around you but it’s important to just stay committed to learning. Yeah doing something that doesn’t need much of a brain is nice, I recommend working a shift at a bar once a week to get away from Screens and do something with your hands. Focus a bit more on the tangible. Most of all stop complaining.
Limiting yourself and not trying things because you think you're dumb is the worst mistake you'll ever make. I wasted years doing that and fucking around and I will be nearly 30 before my life resembles a normal 22 year old's.>im one of those fake smart people in high school that you might rememberSo was I. I think your fear is what my fear was, which is the fear of actually trying something really hard and dealing with adversity and having to grit your teeth through it, and the possibility of failure and being exposed as a fraud. Please ignore this fear. Try doing the normal smart person paths in life like getting an engineering degree or something. You will get farther than you think.>build a game engineThis is way more based than you think but only if you really try your hardest to do it and finish the thing. You probably won't though. You should use that passion for low-level programming and thirst for applied math and get through an engineering degree. If literal brown retards can do it, so can you with your 110 IQ. It's in fact supposed to be hard despite what demoralization niggers would tell you.
>>33832230I always thought midwit meant 115 IQ
>>33832236nope a 115 is a pretty high functioning normie barring trauma - just so you understand the level stupidity I am I started chess on Oct 1st - I started in the 100s and just barely came close to 300 since. I started tech in the heyday back in 2015/16 when the going was STILL good and failed to get my bachelors back then etc and am only getting it now a decade later cause its what I had the most credits in so I might as well finish the job - I don't learn lessons / from mistakes it seems I wish I was never forced into being a studious nerd, I shoulda been a socialite and doubled down>>33832232already took it there >>33832234>>33832235sound advice thanks
>>33832230If you're naturally attracted to some "intellectual" things and you genuinely enjoy them, regardless of self-image and fantasies about success, learn to do them for their own stake. That will free you. Avoiding and suppressing aspects of yourself won't help you.
>>33832230sounds like someone did some wand shit for trait C anyway what the other anon said if you enjoy intellectual shit you are high iq like me i enjoy math and data science i have good intuition with modeling and shieet
>>33832230So how old are you?If your time left on this Earth is limited, don't waste it on 4chan. If this is a demoralization thread, kys.
>>33832240im old now man , im 28, best years behind me which is why im trying to be realistic and practical now because truth is I can't chase a white rabbit anymore if that makes sense >>33832239trait C?
>>33832237>nope a 115 is a pretty high functioning normie barring traumaI'm not talking about youI'm talking about the term midwitI always thought it felt like someone who has 115 IQ and thinks he is smart, like a 130+ geniusHis mid lvl IQ allows him to superficially grasp deep topics, but he can never fully understand them, leading to him having midwit opinions100IQ is irrelevant, borderline retard.People at this lvl won't even try to grasp high-level topics, nor are they self-confident.They know they are stupid, so they don't do as much damage as a 115 midwit with an inflated ego does
>>33832242a perfect example of this is the tards on /sci spamming about 0.999... and infinity, or getting pregnant on Tuesdaysthey are smart enough to grasp basic math and concepts, but not smart enough to understand them, and therefore lead to neverending spam of their retarded opinions, which they think are smarta 100IQ tard is harmless, he knows he is stupid so he won't try to enforce his opinions
>>33832243I feel like that's a loud minority, a ton of midwits I know in academia and corporate settings know they're not geniuses and don't assume any extreme expertise.
>>33832242>>33832243Generic midwit posts. The strongest indicator of a midwit is a post longer than a sentence or two yet 100% predictable and regurgitated.
>>33832245No, the strongest midwit signal is taking some aphorism (in your case, "brevity is the soul of wit") and making it your entire personality
>>33832246>aking some aphorism (in your case, "brevity is the soul of wit")You matched against the wrong template, midwit.
>>33832246funny thing is Spartans had a similar proverb>brevity is philosophyonly Sparta didn't exactly go down in history for its philosophy, now did it?
>>33832230You have ADHD. You don't get dopamine from performing useful tasks and your brain has developed accordingly. Just do what you want, worrying about what you "should" be doing will only doom you to a life of misery. If you were a piece of software you could reconfigure yourslef but as it turns out you are an animal condemned to live within the constraints of your biology. Deal with it.
>>33832249adhd isnt real it's just low IQ + personality issues fyi
>>33832250as someone with ADHD im inclined to believe this desu , it just feels like a small working memory + high aversion to boredom/lack of stimulation more than anything else and its hard to boost your problem solving and pattern recognition if you can't keep your eye on the ball long enough which makes it basically brain damage.
>>33832230What do you enjoy doing, midwit frog? Not, what do you do all day. Not, what would you do if you could do anything. What do you actually enjoy doing?
>>33832252not OP but I enjoy reading about science/math topics. I'm really bad at both because of how bad my memory is but I love learning about new facts/research and reading the methodology. It sounds autistic but when I read about an engineer/doctor/scientist solving some problem and their method I try to think of what their issue was and how I'd try to solve it myself. But sometimes interest isn't enough if the raw IQ demands aren't there. I eventually took the lab tech pill and my life is better even though I don't like my job or get any respect for doing it well.
>>33832230Being aware of your limitations is a good signal. You need to search for something you can do better than most people and monetize it.
>>33832241i'm 40i have zero skills (i can make decent grilled cheese), zero credentialsyou still have a chanceif you do nothing you will become me
Do useful things. Not fake smart pseudo intellectual mental masturbation bullshit
