I'm bored of video games but keep playing them. How do I stop this?
Boredom may be a sign that you have outgrown your current circumstances, and that new ones may better fit you.
>>33836043I'm in the same boat but I'm also starting to despise the guys I play games with, they have anger issues and get pissed off at me for literally anything I do at this point, whether it be leaving them at an early time to go to bed (these guys want me to stay up till like 5 am even though I have both college and a job) or refuse to constantly keep buying new games
start playing peoplemuch harder and more unpredictablebut results can be amazing
>>33836067>>33836058I never liked multilayer games
>>33836073>gamesI mean playing people IRLnot playing them, as in having fun with themplaying them, as in making them do stuff
>>33836090Why? I can everything I want to do myself
>>33836043You grew up. It happens. Find a different hobby.
>>33836043First of all, games are objectively worse now than before due to the economical crisis, tranny hires, jeets, Unreal Engine 5, AI, microtransactions, etc. So try playing older games. If you have a 4k screen you can make older titles look quite appealing. Now, if you find older games boring too then you're clinically depressed. And if that's the case there is nothing you can do. You're essentially only playing them because that's how you grew up and it's the only thing you know so you keep doing it hoping the magical spark will re-ignite itself one day. Unfortunately, it won't.I suggest trying Dota 2, even though you dislike multiplayer games. There's a reason the player count is so high. Maybe it will help you bring back some excitement, as it did for many others.
>>33836125But people who have kids and a family game
>>33836186I'm not depressed
>>33836211>Loss of interest in activities is a key symptom of depression, also known as anhedonia, where you lose the ability to experience pleasure or interest in things you once enjoyed.Ok.
>>33836220Loss of interest in one thing doesn't mean I'm depressed
>>33836227If it is a thing you once enjoyed, then yes. There are other symptoms that need to be confirmed for a full diagnosis, but seeing how defensive you are I guess we'll never know. ; \
>>33836199Manchilds do.
>>33836248so what do i do instead? >>33836241hmm rude
>>33836043I won't read self-inflicted problems threads. OP will just keep on doing whatever until he has an existential crisis, and maybe won't stop even then. In the meantime, no advice is possible.
>>33836058Playing games with people that get super angry is really annoying. Sounds like you've outgrown your friends, or at least your friends refuse to grow up. It happens sometimes, but don't submit yourself to being uncomfortable or annoyed just because of them.
>>33836220>Is actually seriously parroting redditor llm bot shityou're the one who's all fucked up.>>33836043I got bad news for you chief. you're in a unique period of history called the post information age where you have just enough time and security and access to information to rapidly consume most worldly pursuits but not enough to enjoy any of it with other people. the world will only continue to grow smaller! pretty much everyone will suggest some form of self delusion whether it's CBT or getting Jesus as a form of correcting this issue because they're fucking stupid/extremely laser focused on at least filling their life with distractions and being fed.
