3 years ago I started a business by joining a company that fixes dents on cars for dealerships (it's like a franchise type of thing). When I joined they gave me a handful of dealerships to work for, and it's been really good work. I enjoy doing it and I'm actually pretty good at it. I have good business relationships with all my clients. The problem that I'm having is that I can't manage to pick up any new clients. Business has been declining lately, dealerships that would give me as much work as I could handle aren't getting in shit for new inventory and I need to pick up more work if I'm going to sustain myself doing this. I've tried pitching at other dealerships like I was trained to do. But I'm awkward when it comes to anything sales related and I've been unsuccessful in every attempt. Whenever I talk to the manager I always get the vibe they are just trying to get me to leave them alone as soon and as politely as possible. It usually goes like>Introduce myself>Explain the service I offer and how it will benefit the dealership and save them money>Show my portfolio full of before and after pictures of impressive repairs I've done>Offer to perform free repairs with no strings attached to demonstrate I'm the real deal>Manager asks for my business card, says he'll call if he ever needs anything, and sends me on my way>Never get that callAm I doing something wrong? I get that it's not like a video game where you do x and get y as a result. But these sales pitches always go the exact same for me and that makes me think I must be making some kind of mistake. I've watches more experienced members of the company pitch in much the same way and they get results. Is it because I'm young and look inexperienced? Some of my clients tease me because I'm only 22 and look it, maybe they don't think I can do a good job? I'd really appreciate if someone who knows something about sales could give me some advice. I really like this job and I want to keep doing it.
>>33836456this is something actively trying to do facebook videos and tiktok/instagram shit will actually help a lot with. A facebook page will help a lot too. ironically you looking younger will likely help with this, since it won't look like an out of touch old cunt trying to "get on the internet".
>>33836456>it's like a franchise type of thingred flag, some amount of money is going to someone who does fuck all>pitching to businessesbe quick about it, and repeat the name of your website/facebook a few times - it could be months before they need your service>awkwardyou'll get over that eventuallywhen they challenge you for being young you say: what i lack in experience, i make up for in hard work
>>33838989>what i lack in experience, i make up for in hard workThis isn't even the case though, I have more than enough experience to do a good job, better than my competitors in many cases. I guess its a stupid ego thing but I'm sick of being treated like a teenager by these people. I'm sick of being called "buddy" instead of my name by 40 year olds who sit behind a desk all day and are willing to pay some guy who does a worse job than me just because they've known him for longer. If these assholes would just give me a chance I could prove myself easily. But thats too much to ask for apparently.
>>33836456Business decreased. You have no impact on it. You can't just go sell your services if there is no demand for it. Also, these business owners get pitched like a hundred times a day for various services or products so it's not like your visit is gonna be their highlight of the day.
