Hey /adv/, one of my good friends is getting screwed over by his roommate. They're set to move out in a month (both their names are on a month-to-month lease), but the roommate has stiffed my friend on the rent for the last two months and the roommate's response isn't inspiring much confidence. They're in a low CoL area so he's only going to be out ~$1000, so legally speaking it isn't worth it to pursue damages for my friend. In short there's nothing he can do that doesn't open him up to legal retaliation. One thing he told me though is that his roommate has a PS5. He suggested that making a concentrated solution of citric acid and saltwater and spraying a fine spritz into the air vents of the console would eventually render it inoperable down the line. How do I convince him that this wouldn't work and to not do it?
>>33836784Just tell his roommate
>>33836789Why would I tell his roommate? He's screwing over my friend.
>>33836806Because that's fucked up what your friend will do, it could bite him in the ass
>>33836821That's my point, I basically need to know if my good friend's plan will cause the PS5 to fail immediately rather than months down the line. He's adamant that it wouldn't cause immediate corrosion but from what I've gathered it would last maybe a month or two.
>>33836784Be careful if thats even happening. I tried to offer money to a friend for a similar debt and they told me they won't take it.
>>33836853From what my friend said the roommate was really good about paying on time for 2 years, but roommate got addicted to Fanduel/Draftkings/etc and has $0 to his name. They're going to be out in a month and the roommate is moving a few towns over so the likelihood of him every seeing what's owed to him is practically zero. Hence why my good friend is searching for ways to get stealthy revenge. I told him to just post about it on Facebook and publicly shame the roommate.
>>33836872They should probably do that then but they fact they haven't already says enough for me.
