title basically.I know the answer but a few people I know argued that it doesn't and started lecturing me on how suicide is for weaklings, selfish people and other stuff.hence the post.
Yeah it totally does. If someone is already having a terrible day or week, verbal abuse can put some people over the edge.
>>33837173I just don't understand how can people deny it and just go on to say that it's selfishness or weakness and what not. I tried asking them to out themselves in their shoes. and they still didn't understand suicidal people. like how can these people lack ability to put themselves in other's shoes? like what the hell is it lack of empathy or what?
>>33837218They dont want to be responsible for their actions.
>>33837233so basically narcissists?
>>33837218>I just don't understand how can people deny it and just go on to say that it's selfishness or weakness and what not. There's an argument that it's more about weakness and selfishness than external factors. But to say verbal abuse couldn't contribute is retarded. Anyone claiming that is likely either stupid or emotionally rebelling against the idea of feeling sympathy for someone who causes survivors the pain of loss. Possibly do to having dealt with the situation in the past. Here's the the thing: suicide is, in many if not most cases, a selfish act founded on weakness. That weakness is often caused by an erosion due to pain. And nothing makes one more self centered than pain, even just emotional pain. And verbal abuse can certainly cause emotional pain. There are too many factors to reduce suicide down to a simple matter anyway.
>>33837062suicide is THE cowards way outyou shouldn't verbally abuse people
>>33837062Yes it does. It compounds and builds up to a threshold where one actually believes the shit they're being told by the mean fucker saying it.
>>33837062>how suicide is for weaklingsHumans are a species are weak. Our egos and sense of self are so incredibly fragile that it doesn't take much to break. Some say suicide is for the weak but I know plenty of living people that might as well be dead. Sometimes the differentiation isn't as important as you think it would be. Just because you're still breathing doesn't mean you have the bravery to live. The world is full of the walking dead. Don't read too much into it.
>>33837062what contribute to suicide is you imagining you live in the future, and it is an unbearable future. but you don't live in the future and the future is uncertain
Verbal abuse obviously contributes to suicide. And suicide isn't "selfish" or "weak"; in fact, I'd argue the opposite. NO ONE, and I stress, NO ONE wants to die, no matter what. Suicide is a state in which a person feels cornered and believes there's nothing that can ease their constant, agonizing pain, unbearable pain, forcing them to think of suicide as the only way to stop it. But of course, if there were another option (or if they could see that others actually exist), they would take it instead. But those people are blinded by such great pain and delusions that they can't see that there are other options and that they DO NOT need to die. I think it's a bit like being delirious from heat in the middle of a desert minutes from death: you see things that aren't there, you feel so much heat (pain) all over that you can no longer process what you're feeling, and you'd do ANYTHING for water (to put an end to it, or to get out of there). A suicidal person sees it as the only way and there are no other options, and they think the people around them will be happy with it, but it's all a delusion, nothing is like that, and of course, there are other options; they just don't see them because of their mirage. And of course, it's something no one would like to do, even when you die a natural death. Finding the strength to do it requires a lot of determination and courage.
Censorship creates more weak people that kill themselves. >>33837173They have no foundation. The whole urban infantilization culture is about restricting harmful speech and their suicide rates reflects its success.
